Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

Nice course but slow play
Nice course. Green and fairways are well groomed. But the play was slow. Too many slow golfers slowed the entire 18 holes
Great loop
Course was in great condition. Great value for the money through golfnow. Be prepared. I was informed they will be aerating soon.
Great course in Veria, FL
Course conditions were really good. The greens were in very good conditions as well. Maybe a "tad" slower than the courses I normally play in metro Atlanta, but still really nice. Fairways were well groomed and cut very consistent.
MIsl travels
Wife and I played and enjoyed being partnered to meet other golfers and share course experiences. Conditions were very good with 1 hole exception on back nine where it looks like green has two seeds and had to putter across different grains. Love the variety of tee boxes. Staff was excellent.
Slowest Round Ever. (5+ hours)
I haven’t played here in 6 months. I reminded myself why I don’t play here anymore. No Marshall. Tee times were 8 minutes behind. 5 + hour round. Hit and wait 10 minutes every shot. Greens were slow. Fairways and teeboxes were okay. Lots of bald spots no grass. Not worth $60. It’s a $30 course at best. I won’t be back again.
Always a great place to play
Duran is one of my favorite places to play in Viera. Awesome course that challenges you but yet rewards you for your play.
Only thing I think needs work is the 12th green. It looks like broccoli, you can't putt on it. The green needs to be reworked so you can actually play.
Championship Course, Challenging
This is a fine course. I downgraded conditioning due to the ongoing drought, really not their fault, but it was very dry and a lot of hardpan lies. Greens were very good to excellent. Playing with a regular, I learned that they host tournaments and that explains some of the design decisions in terms of roll-offs, bunker lip, banking on hazards, etc. Still, a lot of fun and I recommend being straight off the tee.
Wide fairways
Played course 3x in last 2 weeks. Each time pace of play was fantastic. Although the three 3sums I paired w complained about the condutiins...they were retired Floridians and are used to how course condutiins were in 2015. Course is on the cusp of being a ill pricey, but still worth it You will save money on balls bc there is plenty of fairway to spray em ariund!
One of the Best in Brevard
Course was a bit dry but that was mostly due to the current drought. All together a great course.
Duran is always fun!
Conditions were a little less stellar than usual. 1 green was in bad shape. The driving was in bad shape. The fairways were good, but very dry so the ball ran ALOT.
$93 dollars for this?
Course is in bad shape. Driving range tee box is the best part of the course. Most of the greens on the back have zoysia patches on them. The green on twelve is completely unplayable. It's like trying to putt on a quilt. Tons of areas that need work/grass. Viera East is in way better condition for less money.
Dry conditions
Windy and dry conditions prevailed. One green, #12, is very patchy. The others were okay.
Favorite Florida Course
I first played this course in the fall of 2022. My favorite course that I have found in Florida.
I’ve played Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass, and they’re both great especially given their fame.
But as for a course that anyone can play for a not outrageous price, this is my fav.
When I found myself in Melbourne again, I HAD to play Duran again, twice in 4 days.
Great layout, challenging you to drive it in the fairway, but get able.
Entire course is stressed right now due to lack of rain, but still very playable, and the greens are great.
