Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

The kids would say “Lowkey Mid”
We play this course annually for a charity event and this time seemed like every other time… from the parking lot. Afar it looks beautiful and pristine, but when you’re on the course, there’s several imperfections on the greens and tee boxes. If there’s been a change in the greens keeper, we’ve noticed. If not, the course was just not in its usual condition.
Great value through Golfnow
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were a little bumpy, but they’re coming back after being punched. Great price through Golf now paid $37.
Excellent course, staff and amenities.
The driving range is currently closed as I'm hearing nice upgrades with trackman, covered bays, etc. These people know how to accomodate customers.
Was never told the greens were aerified
I am very disappointed in both the course and golf now for not letting me and my group know that the greens on the course had just been aerified. Come to find out that if I had just booked a round at the course instead of pre paying with GolfNow I would have saved 20$ per golfer, but in all reality we never would have played on fresh punched greens because it was impossible to putt anything. I will take my business elsewhere from now on.
Course and greens aerated.
Course and greens are aerated. No warning issued on Golfnow about aeration. And on top of this, without a course ranger, the round took 5.5 hours to complete! Had I have been in a cart by myself I would have quit after 4 hours! The course will probably be in good shape in a few weeks, but something still needs to be done about pace of play.
Disappointed
No notification that they were aerating the greens. Also that the driving range was closed. There was a twosome in front of us and then a foursome. They were super slow. The twosome would not tee off until the foursome were on the green. Just slow all day. No Marshall in sight to move things along. The fairways looked like they hadn’t been watered in weeks. Very brown. Have played this course before and was disappointed in the conditions this time. Also GolfNow charged us $52 and we could have gotten it on the course website for $35.
Hard review
The front was closed so played the back twice. They had two different pen placement red pin and yellow pin. Hard to review. Fairways I thought were great considering it would take all of St. John’s to keep the grass going out there I don’t know if it was the two pins or the greens did have a little crab grass/I mean 2 pins on the green. Had a great time would recommend.
Always Great
Coming out of the dry season, the course is in pretty good shape. The fairways are plush and greens rolled true. The driving range is closed for the next month but we were aware of it before reserving a tee time. Our tee time was late in the morning before noon. The pace of play was a little slow today and that is unusual. However, the weather was great so we did not mind. The beverage cart came by twice on the front nine and twice on the back nine. The kitchen was closed by the time we were done but the bar was open. All the staff were friendly and courteous. I recommend playing the course.
Best conditions around
We are a threesome of buddies who play a couple of times a week. We play all the public courses in our area and Duran has the best overall conditions of the courses we play.
Staff is great and very friendly and helpful.
The course can get crowded in the winter but the crowds thin out a little once the snowbirds leave.
Challenging for us (10-12 handicappers) but a fun course to play,
One of my favorite courses to play. I wish the golfcarts had GPS like most other courses of this caliber. Also, we were grouped with a couple of other players at the same time, but wish we would have been able to split up. The other 2 had a very slow pace and probably added 45 minutes to an hour to finish the round. Great and challenging course.
I won't be back
There were two things I really disliked about this course. First they allow walkers during the day. They sent out a walking three some and then a walking single, not a good idea on a holiday weekend
Secondly, the carts paths are very far from the green. I didn't mind it but my playing partner was older and had a hard time making the long walks.
These two issues made for not such a fun day
