La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course

Golf course is a hidden gem in San Antonio. The course is in excellent condition. The staff is friendly and ready to help at all times. Unfortunately, their restaurant was closed. Highly recommend.

Exceptional staff. Lots of elevation changes on every hole. Play the right tees for your handicap or suffer the consequences. Greens have lots of slope and are exceptionally quick when on the wrong side of the hole.

Rough is extremely challenging. One of the best courses in the hill country. Will definitely be back!

This was our second time playing this course after 12 years and it was definitely worth every mile we drove from Austin. Great course design, beautiful sights. Everything is neat; the club house, the carts, fairways and greens.

Staff is also very professional and kind.

Overall a great experience worth repeating once in a month if you live in the ATX/SAT area and a must if you are visiting San Antonio.

Played Palmer today. The facilities, the course, pace of play were near perfect. The staff was over the top friendly and helpful. They even went searching for my wife’s 9 iron and FOUND IT!

We had also played the RESORT course last week and it was equally as good. Both these courses are challenging and have lots of elevated tee boxes and grand vistas.

I will definitely be back!!

Highly recommend this course. The layout and elevation changes make it a challenging and unique play. Great staff. The range at the Palmer course is Irons only. Beverage cart was frequent.

Nice course.. Always heard it was more hard than the resort course but I didn’t find that to be true. Relatively wide open. THICK rough made hitting the fairways a must. Greens were fast and rolled true.. No bar open but they did have a mini beverage stand. Overall was a good time but I’d personally rather play the resort course.

This is a must play course if you come to Texas. It's a great hill country golf course on the edge of town in San Antonio. It's quite challenging too. Better have your game dialed in otherwise the course will show it's teeth. Every hole is unique. The greens are challenging. The grain truly shows, so make sure to know how to read the grain.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing the Palmer course. It was my first round there and a few blind tee shots on the back nine cost me a few strokes. Beverage cart gal was personable and helpful. Great views from many of the holes...you can see for miles!

7:20am Tee Time, misting to light rain most of the morning, but still had a GREAT time. The course partnered me up with a vibrant young lady "Mia" and a seasoned low handicap member "Skip". Skip surprisingly walked; I was not going to dare, but I followed Skip in a trek after that elusive white little ball, because of the elevation, but with the help of my GF who was with me, I got the golf UBER when I needed it :P The course was lush and green and very well kept. The greens were immaculate . All SMILES all day.
