The Palmer Course is one of two golf courses at La Cantera Resort, it is named after its famous designer, golf legend Arnold Palmer. Firmly situated on 225 acres of Texas Hill Country, the golf course features plenty of elevation changes to keep golfers on their toes. There is also an abundance of mature oaks covering the course, requiring accuracy off the tees. The unique layout incorporates dramatic waterfalls, lakes, and numerous white sand bunkers throughout. La Cantera Resort’s Palmer Course has several signature holes, most notably the fourth hole. This demanding par 3 requires a long carry over a lake with waterfalls along the front of the green.

Beautiful but tough course
First time playing at Palmer course and we were in treat because it was windy sat afternoon too. Course layout is nice but most od the holes are slanted so you needed to play smart. Most likely with our skills we will be playing at La Cantera course instead of Palmer.
Heck of a time
We played at 4pm on a Friday, the range was set up with balls waiting, the carts were ready to go with ice chest loaded with water and ice, and staff was super friendly. Cart girl made frequent rounds and the beer specials were good. Incredible experience overall
Palmer Course
Course was in awesome shape. Difficult course and pin placement was tough. Great time but not the best of scores for my nephew and I.

have played the Palmer several times over the years. We were in SA and wanted to play it again. it did not disappoint. the course was in excellent condition though the same folks that dont rake bunkers, or fill diviots play there as they do at our home club. it is a great property, outstanding views and of course very good service.

Great value
Course was ion excellent condition. Pace of play was good. Cart girl came around enough to make sure we had drinks. 3 players I played with were good. I would and will continue to visit the course.
Got rained out
We were getting around quickly since most people cancelled due to impending weather. We managed to play 10 holes before the lightning started. The staff gladly issued rainchecks for 9 holes. Great course but the price is rather high. Could be why it was one of the few places available in town.
Inside staff detract from the course
The pure golf was great. The service inside was the worst I have ever experienced in all of my years traveling to play golf. If you don’t mind paying top dollar to play a nice course and don’t mind terrible service before and after, this is your place.
If you don’t mind paying top dollar and want great service then go to Barton Creek in Austin. They’ve got this figured out for golfers that appreciate the game and don’t mind the cost to play these caliber of courses. Totally disappointed in the experience this time at La Canterra Palmer.......both days.
