Mid South Club

We were camping in Jackson Springs and decided to play a round of golf. Mid South was on the top of the list so we tried her out. Really beautiful course, tee box, fairways and greens in great shape. Six holes of water and large sand bunkers, adding challenge to the course. Highly recommend trying the course! Staff were all super friendly as well!!, On hole five, we had a bald eagle grace us with a flyby, wished I had my phone then, but still just another sight to see!

Course conditions in mid-October were fantastic, greens were in great shape and rolling well, layout was challenging yet fair, 4 hour pace of play, and the staff was extremely friendly. I booked my round through Golf Now and can’t wait to play it again on my next trip through Pinehurst/Southern Pines.

After my round...I realized I had left an iron somewhere on course and when I called the club back, the level of hospitality Bryce offered in returning the club to me was without question the best customer service I’ve ever had. Bryce went out of his way to personally deliver the club back to me (in Charlotte) where he just so happened to be going to a few short days later. My 9-iron is back in my bag and they made a lifetime guest out of me.

Do yourself a favor and experience this great track for yourself.

Absolutely great round of golf. The layout and shot looks are challenging but not backbreaking. The greens are VERY big - hitting them in regulation is not as important as being in the right spots. Truly loved the course. Only ding was no water coolers and no beverage cart. Have to get what you want before 1st, Halfway and after 18.

As others have mentioned - wide fairways/fast greens/many sand traps/water hazards/thick rough. Multiple tees to fit different levels of expertise. Course in good condition. Would play this course again.

First time playing MS.....excellent layout! Generous fairways, greens very true and quick down grain, water in play on about 6 holes. The rough is about 2.5" and very dense.....pretty much requires a pitch out or a less than what you want distance wise club. Just a great day on the course. Pace was the only issue we encountered....we played front 9 in 1 1/2 hrs.....back 9 was semi-brutal at 2 1/2 hrs. The scenery is great....classic NC Sandhills golf!

Beautiful course with a very tough layout. Not the course you want to be on if you're struggling with your game. Holes had excellent variety. Greens were quick and undulated. Fairly open off the tee, but trouble everywhere if you miss the fairway or green. Solid test of golf.

Terrific round start to finish. Excellent track in very good condition.

Mid South is a nice layout. We played from the blue tees, about 6500 yards and proved a good test. Condition of the course was strong. Some fairways were a little thin, and the rough was up. Greens were in very good condition.

Similar course to its sister course, Talamore. Relatively open off the tee. Rolly with nice elevation changes. Greens quick and smooth. Perfect conditions. More challenging than Talamore as water comes into play on 6 of the holes. The red boulders along the water's edge are visually stunning, highlighting the greens and water.

I played from the white tees...6170 yards, slope of 128, which was the perfect challenge. Tee to green I hit the ball very solid. My normal score is 83. I shot 42-42. Not the greatest putting day with 38 putts, three 3 putts.

GPS on carts. Friendly staff. Great pace of play. For the $75 we payed for an early morning Wednesday round, a great value. A must play. A 5 star course that was only eclipsed by our unique experience @ Tobacco Road.

I played the course on Thursday July 16. Very enjoyable and looking forward to playing it again when I return to visit my son. The greens were recently aerated and top dressed, but still in good shape. The White Tees give the mid handicapper plenty of challenges, but very playable. #9 and #18 are really nice holes finishing holes.

Course is amazing. Each hole is completely different and just beautiful. The guy working the pro shop was a complete a-hole. We arrived about a hour early for our 815 tee time to look around the shop and to warm up. While checking in he said if we wanted to go early to tee off immediately and I told him no we were going to warm up. One of my playing partners was getting ready to buy a ball marker and hat when he asked the guy if the balls were on the range or where we needed to get them. The guy looks at him and just ignores him. My buddy put the ball marker and hat down and we walked out after checking in.
