About
Talega Golf Club is one of southern California's treasures, offering a challenging Fred Couples layout that sits above the "Spanish Village by the Sea." The course winds through canyons and valleys offering scenic views of the surrounding countryside throughout. The diverse layout will test your shot-making skills and there are also several interesting risk-reward opportunities including two reachable par 4s that will please long hitters. There is an abundance of bunkers coming into play, especially along the fairways, and golfers will be faced with the occasional blind shot. The greens are extremely quick and not a single one is flat. Nearly every green has multiple tiers. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of Talega's most memorable holes is the monstrous 13th. This par 5 requires a carry over not just one but two ravines.

Great employees. Sand bunkers in need of sand though
My favorite course
I always love to play a round in this course. Challenging layout, friendly staffs and reasonable pace during the weekend.
Great Vourse
My wife and I have played here twice and really enjoyed both rounds.
Another fun round!
Even with late TT (1:30pm), we still finished 18 holes! Had great time again!

Solid course with deals but at the time, not worth the money
The course is fun, the layout is challenging but exciting. The issue is that right now the course fairways were in a lessthan desirable condition really making me happy that I got a good deal on the course. I dont think that I would pay full price for the tee times at the current condition.
Very challenging, beautiful course
I having been touring a lot of golf courses in Orange County ( expensive and cheap) and was happy to find this course was close to where I live. It is a challenging course and it kicked my butt but I had the most fun. For the cost, it was to the best value golf course I played on. The course was neatly mowed, never found a bad piece of lawn, golf carts actually worked and the scenery was beautiful. The only thing I can say was I will need to stock up on more golf balls, I lost them in the bushes but that’s on me. This will definitely be my go to golf course. Kudos to all the staff, on my first visit I was impressed and will be a long time customer.
Need a Marshall on course
Loved the layout of course. We could have got in 18 if the pace of play was better. Will be back soon.

Always like playing here. Beautiful course and reasonably priced.
Not what it used to be
I used to love playing Talega. Unfortunately the course is in pretty bad shape. The greens weren’t too bad, but fairways and rough looked pretty raggedy. Hope they can get this tacitly back to iwhat it used to be.

Only one complaint. Sand traps need sand in some and they all need groomed, Some of them are like hitting out of concrete,
On the other hand, Carlos who was the starter, was very friendly and helpful. One of the best employees at this course.
