Fall Conditions
2nd group out on Valley 7:20am tee. Fairway maintenance underway .... several being plugged... made for difficult play on those holes. greens were in good condition. Fall chill in the air so we were layered up....marine layer overhead effected visibility some. Normal expectation for this time of the year.
Rolling hills, good variety of holes.
Played here back in May 2013 (Memorial Day weekend). Well-maintained course with water hazards and rolling terrain. Wide fairways with some rough and no blind holes. Not too crowded, even on a 3 day weekend, went around in around 4 hours. Easy to get to, right off the freeway. I have played a lot of courses using rental clubs, but this one was the first with Cobra (most of the others have Ping or Callaway).
wet and soggy
course was over watered. the fairways were soggy and the sand traps were very hard and lacked sand. greens need to be rolled and aerated to improve roll and speed. i have not played the tournament course in quite a while but the last time i played it was in much better shape.
Fun course to play
Course was longer from the whites than most public courses
(approx 6600) but still playable for a senior.
Great Jack Nicklaus Layout, Small Concrete Greens
(Valley Course) I really wanted to give this review a 5 star. The course was well maintained; layout was challenging yet fun; greens were fast. There was hardly anyone out there when we played on a Sunday afternoon, and we could have flown through if we wanted. My complaint was that the greens were small and nearly impossible to hold. They were literally like concrete - and if the wind had picked up any more forget it. I'm not sure if they had just baked them out recently or what, but 9 irons and wedges from the fairway were bouncing 4 feet in the air and running through the back. We tried to hit shots short and run them up, but the grass around the greens was heavily watered and there was no guarantee you would get on. If you ended up in a bunker (oh yeah, there are a liberal amount out there), forget getting up and down - it was very hard to get the ball to check up. Several times my buddy, a 3 index, hit what I thought would be a decent bunker shot only to see it roll through the green into another bunker! At a certain point it made the challenge of the course overtake the fun of the round. However, I would recommend this course and want to believe that we just got a day with ultra baked out greens. With more receptive greens this course would be a must play.
Fun course
This course was challenging, and fun. It was not crowded, staff was friendly and helpful. Will recommend it, and play it again.
convoluted layout
This course in not walker friendly for first timers as there are tow courses and to go from one green to next tee is not easy. Nicklaus really messed up a good design from the original Valley course which we played (old Riverside). the course is well kept except that it is infested with ground squirrels and all the trouble that brings. Bunkers are amazing as they are perfectly maintained but are sandless as they are very hard and have many many stones in the sand and dirt mixture that makes them look a dark brown. they are impossible to play normal bunker shots. the greens are very nice and well kept. Gps on carts had trouble knowing which course you were on and kept shutting down saying the round was over. Not a good experience but a well kept facility as the staff has done a very good job maintaining what they have
the corse was very well mantained but the price to play is way to high.
the coarse was pristine but average cost is way to high and I will only play this coarse when I have a 50% off coupon.
This course is worth playing at price offered dispite heavy winds.
The course was in good condition overall. The greens were in excellent condition with the fairways good and the tees in fair shape. Great bargain at the price offered.
The wind makes it extra challenging
I would play the course all the time if I lived in the area.
Valley Course = Fun Times
Played the valley course for the first time. I'm a pretty high index player and I thought it was challenging enough. Greens are fast but fair. The course is next to 101 but still fun. I'm going back and maybe break 90.
Well maintained, 18 hole pace of play is just right.
Well designed (although the layout is a little bit confusing to first-timers), well maintained course (although some fairways are too wet), greens are OK. Love the cart with the GPS and scorecard.
This course is awesome and lots of fun.
Great course to play. Sevice was great and fairways and greens are kept up very well. I recommend it to anyone who has not played there.
Great for a Relaxing Sunday afternoon
Wide fairways, challenging well bunkered greens, abundant wild life, great scenery, ok condition, so-so rental sets. But good for practicing all your shots during a relaxing round. I'd play it again.

I was surprised to see a $70 rate to play Coyote Creeks valley course for $70 on a Saturday. Much to my surprise when after the golf shop ran my credit card, he asked if I knew the greens had just been aerated. I assumed I overlooked the message when booking the course. Today I checked and could not believe the aeration message on Golf Now was not more prominent. This is easily overlooked by most people booking a golf tee time. Many people including myself will not play an aerated course, no matter what the price. $70 down the drain.
The Course is in great shape
Coyote Creek is in great shape to play on. The afternoon winds makes the Valley Course a great challenge.
Flat/ long/ can use some better maintenance. High end price with muni conditions. Better value elsewhere.
Coyote Creek is one of the newer properties and is being marketed as a premium golf course. However, valley course is pretty flat, open and straight. You can shoot 4-5 shots under your handicap. No single signature hole. They all look same. Fairway has weed spots. Tee boxes are quite littered. Greens are good though.
Course is good; amenities are OK
Course is wide open (not too much trouble) and was windy in the afternoon. Pace of play was good for a Sunday afternoon, course was in good condition. Drawbacks: used the electronic scorekeeper on the cart and lost the scores from the first 9. Not sure what happened; but, the front 9 scorecard was erased. Snack bar was not ready with available food. One of the courses was shut down to host a wedding (!!!). Personally, I would hope a golf course would serve golfers first and wedding/events second...not the case for this course.
weird layout
There are two courses intertwined between each other. Sometimes you end up on the wrong hole because it's the other course. They force you to use carts on the weekend. The snack shack after 9 holes was shut by 4pm. We finished out round at 6pm on Sunday but apparently that's too late to get a beer and the bar and restaurant was already closed. I don't think I'll play this course again. Seems to be a poorly managed course. Not sure why Jack put his name on this badly managed outfit.
