Yucaipa Valley Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, Yucaipa Valley Golf Club enjoys a stunning backdrop on most of its holes. The beautifully maintained course is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Yucaipa Valley offers the unique combination of being both challenging and affordable, for this reason it's a local favorite. The layout is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It's not terribly formidable but the greens can be challenging because of the slope and speed. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and the occasional water hazard comes into play. The 13th is the signature hole at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club. This tricky par 3 has a severely undulating green bordered by out-of-bounds on the right and water on the left.

A Putting Test
The prominent feature of this course is the undulating greens (which are in great condition). It is a definite challenge for the flat stick. Expect more 3 putts. Compared to other courses in the area this one is in good condition and better than most. They are making an effort to groom the sand traps, however, some are thin and some are flush with sand. It's hard to judge whether your club will hit hardpan with a typical sand shot, so swing softer and take a shallow divot of sand if you find yourself in a bunker. Also, be aware that most greens have a definite side to stay away from with steep slopes that will send an errant shot into trouble.
Customer service and management
Waited over an hour for a golf cart. Course poorly managed morning play and allowed a significant amount of single riders out in the morning and therefore ran out of carts at 1pm. I had a 120pm tee time and didn’t go off till after 2:45pm. Course also had no Marshall and the round took 6 hours.
You would think there would have been a comp or some
Reimbursement but there was nothing. Second time I’ve been here and ran into similar issues.
I'm sorry you had a terrible experience. I would love to have you out again. Please let me know when you would like to play and i will set you up. Sflowers@wgolfp.com

This course had perfect grass
This course was well worth the $34 spent. great grass. greens were good. pace of play could’ve been a little better but can’t complain because the course was great.
Great course for the price
The next group was pretty close to us but they did not mind waiting. Overall good experience.

We appreciate you coming out to play our course.
Great layout
Great course and very scenic. A tad slow and the greens were heavily sanded. When it’s in shape it should be great.
We are in the midst of our yearly maintenance. We will be in great shape in the next 2 weeks. We look forward to having you back out.
Thank you for your review!
Aerated
Course was aerated day before no notification on golfnow, just checked golfnow for this weekend still no alert. Not sure whose responsible but unfortunate
We have our alerts with all of our 3rd party vendors and we do not try to hide the fact we are doing course maintenance.
Aerification Alert
The front 9 was closed due to aerification, play the back 9 twice. Course over booked, 5 hours to play 18. Booked through Tee off, would not have booked if I had known the condition.
I apologize you were not notified of the Golf Course Maintenance. We have fully healed and look forward to coming back out.
We apologize your experience was not the best it could be. We strive to give our guests the best possible experience we can.
I'm sorry your experience was not the best. Aerification can cause some havoc on the course. We hope you give us another chance.
Thank you for taking the time to review our golf course. We look forward to having you back out.
Best bang for your buck
Course is in great shape. And at $64 dollars on the weekend is a great deal. Other course in the area are around $89 to $100.... and it takes around 5 hours a round.. so, Yucaipa is your best bet for a fair priced round and a very nice course to play on. Me and my friends will definitely be back again. Thank you!
We appreciate the kind words. We work hard to give our players the best product we can.
Thank you for taking the time to review our golf course.
Gaining Momentum
Played Yucaipa Golf Club a few times in the past month.
My family and friends have been playing this course for the last 15 years. We have seen it at its best and its worst. We’ve seen multiple management changes over the past few years and I am here to tell ya, it’s headed in the right direction. We used to play here in 2-3 charity tournaments each year. Then the course was absolute pile of turds and the price was higher then it is now. Two years ago, my brothers and I stopped coming to Yucaipa GC. The tournaments have since been moved to other courses. Now, over the past year, me, my brothers and friends are back and enjoying the course. Mando at the bar usually checks us in and is always in a good mood.
Conditions have been getting better and therefore, for the 2nd year in a row, family and friends are members / in the Chapman Rewards program which is awesome. Look into it!
Course Negatives: Things that should and still need to be addressed. This could have easily been avoided. Our tee time was 11:24. Why, for the first 4 holes were there lawnmowers going up and down the fairways with no regards to players waiting to tee off? They would drive up next to us at the tee or even on the fairway, set the blade down in the middle of our backswing. It was a bit surprising and a comically aggravating way to start the first 4 holes. Shouldn’t be an issue. From my experiences, mowing is usually done earlier. Anyone else?
The bunkers aren’t getting worse or better. They tend to have drainage issues with any rain and even if they are dry, with the amount of rocks overwhelming 90% of the dirt, not sand bunkers, we are forced to remove our ball to prevent club damage.
Hole 18 in its entirety has went from worst to one of the best in its condition and playability. Sadly, the par 5 hole #2 green can’t seem to get fixed. It’s been years since that greens condition was remotely nice and the two bunkers around #2 green are the worst on the course.
Overall, the layout is fun and the course is gaining momentum in the right direction. Playing again tomorrow!
We appreciate your long time commitment to our course. We have spoken with our maintenance department and we will ensure this does not happen in the future.
Thank You for the review! We appreciate you spending your time at our course.
