Foxtail Golf Club - South Course
About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

Love this course
Always fun playing this course, staff friendly, pace of play a little slow last 4 holes but the this course is always fun.
Fun
Allways enjoy playing hear. This is my 2nd time writing a review on golf now. When i go i feel like a kid in a candy store.
Great Course, North Course
Very nice course. Paired up with a really nice guy from the area and he knew the Course very well. Was very slow on back mine but we finished all 18. Staff in the Pro Shop was very helpful and friendly. I would play this Course again.
Very nice round
Course was in good shape except for loose grass (lost balls), excellent staff, had to jump one hole do to inexperience golfers, had a nice round.
Always nice to play north foxtail
This course is always very nice to play, staff always very friendly, and very reasonable to play.
Swamp-
Swamp-like conditions. I realize the area has had significant rainfall lately but the amount of standing water, length of grass in the pasture(fairways) made our round a nightmare.. Hopefully someone will find at least half of our 25 lost balls, most of which were straight shots , within the “short cut” of grass normally referred to as fairway. If the course gets this sloppy it should be closed for a couple days. If it’s too wet to mow it’s too sloppy to play. Nice, helpful employee at front counter.
Foxtail North.
First and foremost, this is where I am training and honing my ability’s on the field. As a person who is just starting to take the sport seriously I feel as though this course is the best for that. Though I am still not a great golfer handicap is 35+, I appreciate the course, the people, and all the interactions I’ve had with fellow golfers i have been paired with. This course and club is amazing, I have yet too feel shunned or belittled by anyone as I did many times in the past by other clubs,(no I won’t name them) but I’m sure some of them know who they are, and maybe they just are going in a different direction for their courses and clubs. But anyway, foxtail overall is amazing and I suggest it to anyone who wants to play golf starting out experienced or pro. And thank you foxtail for being welcoming and never making me feel less than.
P.S.
Because of this club, I try and go out and play 1-2 times a week.
