The Links at Las Palomas Resort Golf Club

Came down to visit a friend and played Friday morning. I love the course, the layout, and love the way that it challenges you. 'Yes!'....we will be back!

We had a great time. Course in in excellent condition and is difficult without going over the top. Fun for all!

The greens were in great condition, just a little slow. This is a nice course to play if your visitingRocky Point. There are some blind tee shots that take a few rounds to figure out, after that it is very fair and in very good shape.

I don't understand the negative comments posted here. It's a great course with a perfect layout. The staff guy was rude because I didn't have a collared shirt... so I had to pay more then my round for a shirt. No website showed a dress code. The course was in perfect conditions, the tee boxes, fairways and greens were better the most public courses in Los Angels.

Nice course in RP. The fairways and greens have come back to excellent condition from last year!

The course is very playable for all levels of skill.

GREAT VALUE if you purchase a 16 round book.

We go to Penasco a few times in the winter from Jan. thru March just to play all the courses. It is their off season. The weather varied from 65 - 80 degrees.

Perfect time before the tourists show up

Have played this course many times. Regular rates are high, but golf now rate is a good value.

However, on our most recent round, golf carts were dying, with one cart abandoned, along the course (batteries) and our cart began acting up at hole 10.

While much of the course is relatively level, the handful of dunes require some ups and downs. We had to push our cart up 3 hills, skipped a couple holes as we got out of order big time. Beverage cart girl saw us on hole 14/15 and called it in, saying someone would bring a new cart shortly.

Well...being Mexico shortly never happened. By the end of 17 our cart died..we abandoned it and began walking. Other golfers had their phones and called it in to clubhouse....a replacement cart showed up in about 10 minutes...but by then, I was fed up and tired, so we skipped 18 too.

1) Bring your phone with the clubhouse number ready to go...you may need it.

2) Golf now rate is the best value for this course. If you are a Las Palomas condo resident/renter, your rate is reasonable.

3) Walk in rate is too high.

4) Manager DID comp us cart fee $20USD p/p for next round, but that's off the RACK RATE...so we really can't use it.

Course is fine , but this bad cart day for us and others spoils it somewhat.

Only negative aspect were the golf carts were old and did not have gps systems.
Otherwise, outstanding experience.

The greens were very nice. There are two or three fairways with some bad areas but overall the course was in great condition.

Paid $25 on golfnow. Can't beat this deal for a quality course.

The fairways are starting to come back into shape and they are working on it at a rapid pace. This really is a great course that's a lot of fun to play and challenging as well! Thanks for two memorable rounds-

I have been wanting to come see how bad the fairways got since the course experience the water issue. They are still in rough shape, but the ground did seem moist almost everywhere and grass is growing, It will be a few more months of hard work to get what they had back, Greens and tee boxes are good. They seem to be doing a significant amount of cleaning up of the scrub brush around the property, which will look good and make play easier off the grass. I look forward to this course getting back in shape as it has always been a nice layout with reasonable prices.

I felt the $25 I payed was fair enough but I would have been upset if I had payed more. The tee boxes and greens were in good condition but everything in between was in sad shape and difficult to play. The fairways were a mix of overgrown areas that resembled a typical yard, completely dead areas and lumpy patches. I decided quickly that I would improve my lie before every shot if I was in the fairway and that made my round feel like a fair golf experience. I suppose I would play it again if I was visiting the Sandy Beach and getting sick of sitting on the beach drinking and jonesing for something different to do.....or maybe I would drive 30 min to the course on the other side of town.

The fairways may look green from a distance but really are soft dirt. Greens are good. Price is discounted because of the fairways but even then it is a close call.

The greens were ok but very little grass in the fairways.

Grass is coming back fast. Will be in better shape in about a month. Great round of golf..

I've played this course before when it was in good condition, but they lost both course water pumps and subsequently lost all green grass on the fairways. The tee boxes and greens are still in great shape but you have to either tee it up in the fairways or fluff it up. They have been resodding sections of a lot of the fairway landing areas, they need to reseed all the fairways but that would be very expensive and they don't seem to want to do that! too bad cuz it's a real fun course to play and very close to all the Condos and RV parks.The online price of $25.00 with a cart ALMOST makes it worth the bad fairways. I will play it again BUT ONLY because of the price!!!

My wife and I drive to Puerto Penasco, (Rocky Point) from Tucson, AZ and play Las Palomas about once a month from October to May or June. We have done so for years.
Las Palomas is always GREEN and the putting greens are very good. It is one of three great courses in Rocky Point and we play them all.
