The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes

Course for the money! I’ve played here numerous times and always enjoy it. The course isn’t in the best condition around but the layout is great the variety of the holes is great.

Loved the layout of this track. The greens and fairways are desperately in need of some heavy rain (for a week) just like most courses. Young man and lady behind the Proshop counter were excellent, and very personable. Bartender was also excellent. Gentleman at bag drop was very good at guiding me around the property. Most courses could use extra rain, as there’s been a bit of a drought this winter. This course has well designed holes and could be one of the best in the area if just a tad bit of money went into the upkeep.

Greens are so bad that they should close the course. You are putting on a brocoli. The ball jumps like a kangourou. Will never play there again.

Course in good shape except the greens. They were bumpy with weed growth. Hopeful they treat this in the spring. Otherwise the course was in good shape and fun to play.

typically this course offers some of the best conditions in the area. I play 4 to 5 other courses in the area besides HH at the lakes and I was surprised to see the greens with so much weed growth on them. I could understand it being because of winter, however the other courses I play weekly are in better shape this time of year. It won't stop me from playing there again, because the course is generally one of the best around.

I would not play this course again when the grass is dormant. No grass in the fairways and the greens were poor.

Greens not that great. Lots of POA Anna which made the greens very bumpy. Course quite wet considering there hasn’t been that much rain in the past few weeks. Not a good value considering the conditions This use to be a great course but not so much anymore..

With afternoon rain forecast, I made an 830. Arrived at 805, checked in & was given green light to go. Rolled a few in the practice green&got an early start. That in and of itself made for a pleasant round.

Course in very good condition. Fairways were still smooth and the course obviously has good drainage. Sand, which I found 4x, was in equally good condition. Very playable. Greens, though having a "weed" growing, that did not alter ball trajectory. I hadn't seen that last year and was told it's seasonal.

It's a hybrid of a links design with low country water in play often. Really need to think shots through.

While I stayed in HHI, this course was worth the drive to pass others off of Route 278. Will be back.

Really enjoyed my round. Course was in great shape for Jan…greens were actually very fast! Played with 2 super friendly member, moved pretty good. Wide open tee shots but challenging approach and greens. Highly recommend.

Nice layout, well maintained, good value for money for the area. No-one else out there on a cool windy cart-path only day, so pace of play was excellent. Cart parking brakes did not work.

I was staying on Hilton head and decided to take a flyer and travel a little to golf. Hilton Head Lakes was rated pretty well in GOLFNOW and I wanted to golf a course that was a little longer and straighter than others on the island. Seems like most courses on Hilton Head dogleg right or left at 245-260 yards and. Needed a change.

I played from the tips at the lakes course and it was typical Winter conditions (fairways dormant, greens looking a little thin). however the course layout fit my eyes, greens were firm and I was ready to have some fun. I enjoyed the round and met a few locals on the course to share a little Jameson with. Would love to hit it again in late spring to see it greener.

First time playing the Hilton Head Lakes course. I like the layout and had fun playing it from the tips. Fairways were dormant as expected and runout in them was fairly short given the mild temperatures. the course was very open (bombs away) compared to other courses I played like Barony which were tighter and a little more strategic to play.

I met some locals in the threesome ahead of me and enjoyed chatting and sharing some Jamison (thanks John!) with them periodically as the groups backed up a little. I would love to play this in late spring when the course greens up. I will be back again

Very nice facility. Would really like to play when not dormant. Staff very friendly from the bag drop thru pro shop and to the snack bar

Front side is crammed between houses and nothing special. Back nice is much nicer winding through woods with no houses. Greens were great and VERY fast!
