The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes

Nice course with good layout and challenging holes. For some reason every green has crowned holes which makes holes more challenging than they.need to be. I find this adds 5 to 8 strokes to my score at this course compared to similar courses where the greens keeping staff knows how to finish off a hole properly.

This course is the closest to Latitudes, I found the course conditions to be less than desireable compared to other courses in the area. Save your money & explore other options.

Course was in great condition and fun course to play. The fairways are player friendly extra wide. The course greatest defense are the sand traps. I would recommend the course for golfers of all abilities.

I really enjoy playing at HHLakes golf course .last few times course was in really great shape fairways green greens are really nice bunkers can use some improvement but really great shape overall always look forward to playing this course with friends and family

Terrific course with exceptional staff. Rangers were super friendly and enjoyed the bit of chit chat we had between a couple holes. Greens recently aerated but still played good. Great design with wide fairways but still require accuracy. Will definitely make a plan to come back and enjoyed my round thoroughly.

A great layout and length for all handicap and skill levels. Very forgiving out of the tee boxes. With challenging shots to score. The greens are recovering from being aerated but in good shape. The fairways were a little damp from previous rain so the roll out on drives was not there. The sand is thin and compact like a beach course waste areas but very playable. I would highly recommend this course to play. Will definitely play it again when on town.

My family of four which includes 20 year old and 15 year old sons had an extremely pleasant Golfing experience. Our original date was booked and paid in advance through GolfNow but the weather forecast was so bad that Ms. Dawn rescheduled a better day so that vacation plans were not ruined. After that we got the very best hospitality and customer service from Mike who happily answered all our questions. The course was in good shape all around. We got to see a couple alligators on the edge of the water brook before the first hole. We will definitely return with the family on our annual Hilton Head trip.

What a wonderful course! The grounds are well maintained, and the holes are very picturesque. The staff was very friendly and helpful, too…smiles from everyone. This is a course set up in a growing retirement community, and it’s well thought out and challenging. The distance between some of the holes is significant, so you only want to use carts (not walk). And the carts are electric and new…very nice. My son and I had a great day on our vacation! Thank you HHL!

The course is well maintained with pretty natural "green-scapes" ..lush & scenic as well as challenging on some holes. The Golf shop staff are very accommodating as well as professional and you will be completely satisfied with any lessons given by the professional golf staff.

How incredible to be playing golf amidst some truly beautiful wildlife.

The front nine was an average but fair layout thru the area with homes bordering the course. The fairways are wide and fair. Great for all types of golfers. The back nine was in a nature park. Beautiful layout, no homes. One of the nicest 9 hole layouts in the HHI area.

Interesting layout. The greens were quick and rolled true. Front 9 plays close to some houses at times but the back nine is wide open. Very pleased with my round.

FINALLY! A local course with greens that were up to PAR! Tee to green the best course (condition) that I have played in 3 months.

We have had unusually little rain here and the course conditions reflect that. Fairways are dry and hard. Lots of run out. Greens had been punched and sanded recently and were dry. So not much hold or bite to them. I expect this will all get better after some rain. Good layout. Flat but not a walking course due to the distance between holes.

The only reason I played was based on the reviews on Golfnow….which are inaccurate to say the least. The course is a pretty good track, but nowhere near one of Fazio’s best routings. The fairways are reasonably smooth but very thin, greens were sanded and only about 50% grass…although they did roll fairly fast. Overall impression was just “meh”….I get the distinct impression that spring and summer are not really the best time to play anywhere on HHI, fall & winter may be the preferred time.
