The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Friendly and helpful staff
This was our first time playing this course. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered our questions and offered great suggestions to enhance our golf experience. The course was in good condition for early February.
Close to Home
We love this course! We got a great discount thru Golf Now & it is very close to home. We are disappointed with the rates we pay in our community of Sun City. We pay high HOA's & that does not include our golf. So we choose to use Golf Now to book our off site golf rounds & we can play most courses we like for a lot cheaper.
SWEET!!!!
Best course in the winter conditions. I brought a new golf friend with me and his response was what a track. Played the blues, little long with some wind today. Course was challenging but fair. Greens, tees and fairways ALL in excellent condition......My friend said he wants another crack at it. When the clubhouse gets complete should be a gem. All the guys in the pro shop make you feel welcomed. The superintendent is doing a fantastic job. Kudos. See you next week.
Always Good
Best greens in the Savannah area. An hour drive but it is worth it. They have even put a lot of work into the traps. Very good range balls and turf to hit off of. As good a practice green as you would ever want....
Wide Open Potential
The negative - we got off to a shaky start when the counter guy in the temporary clubhouse (a new one is under construction) gave us the go ahead. We drove toward what we assumed was the first tee until a sign forced us in the opposite direction. I was all set to tee off when a foursome yelled "You have to tee off on 10!" It seems the counter guy didn't tell us the front was too backed up. Because this took so much time we were now behind a foursome instead of having a pretty clear course in front of us.
Everything else was positive - the course layout and conditions were superb. This seems like a newer course with very little rough and wide open fairways.
Due to a light rain the night before the greens were much slower (a.k.a. forgiving) than others we played earlier in the week. Scoring was another story as our back nine (the front) did not fair as well as our front (the back).
We hope to get another chance to play this course in the future. Its openness and overall layout are so inviting.
Great course and value
My wife and I had an 11:30 tee time. We went off around 11:15 as a twosome. Was to start on 10 behind a 3 4-some group. The starter had us go off on 1. Had the course to ourselves until 17! Played in just under 3 hours. Course has wide fairway but the layout was still challenging without being too hard. Staff was absolutely great. We stay on Hilton Head but he 20 mile drive is very worth it.
Surprised
Cole in the pro shop nice as can be...Both times I played. After all the snow and rain course was super playable. Greens looked rolled and putted nicely. Sand traps were dialed in. Best I've seen. Tees and fairways great shape. Great round. Good time. Will be back.
Ice
With recent ice and snow, the course was in good condition. Decent layout with wide fairways. Cart path only and traps were still wet but to be expected. No standing water. Enjoyed the day.
Course has nice layout...
Greens were fast and I liked the layout of the course. We ran into difficulty on the back 9 with having to constantly wait to play and ended up not finishing the course due to time constraints...started us out on back 9 but when we came to the 1st tee there was a foursome ahead of us and a threesome ahead of them. Waited constantly.
Good value for your money
Course has a great layout to give you a challenge, great friendly staff . Good golfnow hot deal
Good Time!
Course was in good condition for the time of year. New clubhouse being built. Disappointed that there was no refreshment cart since it is very inconvenient to stop at the turn for snack or beverage. Problem solved once new clubhouse opens. Greens in good shape. Overall a good experience for a last minute round in December!
First time, great time
My first round at Hilton Head Lakes. Passed it many times on the way to other courses but will check this course out first in the future.
Course is in great shape with great greens, nice fairways and tee boxes. Traps need a little maintenance as do most of the courses in this area. Other than that, its a course you should consider your next time out.
Good Golf Course
I enjoyed playing there very much. The staff is very friendly and the course is a great value.
Great layout, Excellent green conditions.
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is well laid out, has challenges but can be navigated with patience. If you are looking for a course in great condition with near perfect greens, this course is well worth the time and price.
