The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

hhlakes
great for the money.greens are perfect plays long in the wind but fair.very few houses on front 9 well worth the drive
This course in excellent condition
Early tee time pace of play excellent. Course in great condition. Best value in the area.
Hilton Head Lakes worth the drive
Hilton Head Lakes GC is worth a 30 minute trip from HH island. This is more a links style course with great scenery that is spread out over a large area with no back and forth holes. The conditions are nice and the layout is challenging without being tricky.
This course is one of the best if not the best public course on 278.
I played this course quite a bit a couple years ago, then I took a break from playing. Now that I'm getting back into it this course has made a dramatic improvement and is reaching it potential. Greens and almost perfect, it never stays wet for too long. I would consider making this my home course if I lived closer. Two thumbs up
Mulligan
Greens are in perfect condition. Tee boxes are great. Layout is wide open but still challenging. Well placed bunkers but could use a little more sand. This place is a gem.
Excellent new course , good layout , very windy , greens excellent , staff great
Course has a friendly layout. You still have to shoot well to score well. Grass starting to come in. Greens rolled well , not slow but not fast. Good value. Worth the drive from Hilton Head. Only negative is that were out of range balls at 10a.m.
Played passing through
Early march so fairways not developed too well yet but greens nice and layout really nice. Clubhouse still under construction. Hardly anyone on the course and very close to I95 so was a great stop for us.
Pleasant Surprise
We stay on Hilton Head island so thought this course might be too far away. However the few extra minutes needed to get there was well worth it. The staff were all very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in us. On gentleman, Al I believe, was particularly helpful. The clubhouse Is rather plain but they have plans for a new one. The course is very open with only a few fairways having homes bordering them. It is a developing area, so that may change. The greens were great. They had us play the back 9 first, no problem. On one of the cart paths, we came upon a diamond back snake. We waited until it slithered into the woods. We have been warned many times not to go search for a errant ball. Now I see why. Overall we all loved this course and will definitely return. Forgot to mention, we have golfed most of the Brown courses ,but prefer HH Lakes.
Work in progress
Once course grows in, will be a real gem. Look forward to coming back and seeing the improvements in completion.
Staff was great, good to talk to a fellow Michigander.
Love to see the clubhouse when complete.
Worth every dime, come out and enjoy.
Big Gators!
Awesome course if you live off the island like I do. 5 minutes drive for me and because of that you can't beat it for me. Course is great, it's one of the newer ones so tee boxes are in great shape along with the greens. Pace of play seemed a little slower than usual but a couple groups let us pass thru and then smooth sailing. I wish the real club house would actually get built here because it would turn this course upside down with the amount of potential it has.
You get what you pay for.
The course routing was a disappointment and the grasses in the fairway were thin as I expected them to be with the dry weather they have had. However, the greens were VERY disappointing as they appeared to have been ignored with watering and chemical treatments.
great course
It was a nice sunny day, temp. 72.
The course was in great shape from the fairways, greens and bunkers.
A must play when visiting Hilton Head.
Will play again before we head back home.
Course is in great shape
Enjoyed the course, greens and fairways in great shape for the middle of February. Staff are extremely friendly. Never disappointed with this course.
