About
Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, just outside of Hartford, is an Arnold Palmer Signature course. It is one of the toughest rounds in all of New England. The course sprawls across a beautiful landscape covered with natural wetlands and forests of towering maples, oaks, and elm trees. There are strategically placed bunkers in addition to the natural challenges but they are not excessive. The wetlands come into play on almost half of the holes at Gillette Ridge Golf Club. The approaches to the greens are seemingly intimidating but as long as you don't hit short there is always bailout area on one side. Since each hole presents a unique challenge, there is not just one signature hole, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, a true risk-reward test that requires both length and accuracy.

Water
No water to drink on course. No Ranger to pick up pace of play. But still very challenging.
Challenging
An Arnold Plamer design had been eased to be manageable for most golfers. Three hole’s have carries that are too long for shorter hitters. Accuracy and position are rewarded. Rolling greens challenge the best putters.
Only negative are the sand traps which after rain are better described as mud flats. Could use more sand and better drainage,

Had a great time with friends, need to keep your game on target here. Nice course ⛳
Great Courss
Overall the course was in fantastic condition.
The track offers different layout holes so shot making can be creative. Greens & fairways were fantastic.
Enjoyable
I've played this course for the third time this season and I really enjoyed every round.
I have a daughter in the area, so whenever I visit I make it a point to play here.
Excellent practice areas.
Playing time
Over 5 hours left on the 15th hole. One foursome had the entire course backed up. Other than that it’s the best course in Connecticut.
Beautiful layout
Gillette Ridge is a beautiful layout. There is a nice mix of water, bunkers, gullies and rolling terrain. The greens have significant undulations that allow a variety of pin positions. When I played the general course conditions were good but there were a few problem areas, specifically the bunkers were unraked and generally unplayable.
Great time!
It took some time to get used to the greens personally, but for a round played with no driver in my bag, my 3 wood was a great substitute! I did play here a day after a rainy night and the bunkers were not the best for when I unfortunately landed there, with a lift clean and place rule it did not ruin my experience.
