About
The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.
The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.
Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Unusual day
Today must've been hate anyone that won't disclose if they are vaccinated day. I was paired up with 3 other golfers and the first thing they asked was if I was vaccinated, I declined to give my personal information out and say can we just enjoy the beautiful golf. They legit flipped out. I declined to play with them and told them to hang on at the tee box so I can enjoy my round. I then around the 8th hole caught up to another 3 some. I patiently waited for them to see if they would ask if I could play with or play thru and they too asked me the same question. I literally almost got the same response one said how dare you not tell us and come out here! I then decided today was not the day to deal with Karen's so I left at the 8th hole and didn't even bother asking for a rain check I was fuming the outcome wouldn't have been positive if I said something! Not sure I'll be coming back to my local course again! So sad this world is coming to labeling people again!

Enjoyable course
My 2nd time playing this course. Thanks for trimming the rough was much more scoreable off the fairway. Ariated greens recently but rolled well and held well. My first trip I ate at the grill was excellent. Just wish I had known they are closed on Mondays. Good layout wasn't stupid long off the tips like some courses try. Longest par 3 is 197yds so is fair. As low as I scored today I have zero complaints except the lip outs.

Fun Course
Played for the second time and will definitely be back soon. Course is in great shape although the driving range is closed for a complete renovation it appears. Greens are very smooth and a good. Fairways are green and lush. Fun course that has a good pace of play.

Be aware the range was closed. They are re doing it. Guy in front said hopefully next week they will have something to hit off of. From look I would think end of month.

Great course but Fix the amenities
Overall a great track to play with 27 holes (3 -9 hole courses)
Thw pro shop and starters are always helpful and friendly. However to find someone to help at the turn/window was impossible. Even other people enjoying their lunch on the patio were laughing in amusement at how long I waited and still hadn’t been served(and yes I asked servers and knocked the widow). The range and the chipping green are closed as well for repairs until August.
All in all, the golf is awesome but they do have a few things to improve.

Great Layout
The course is in really good shape overall. The greens were slower than they usually are this time of year…but they were very consistent. They are still recovering from Texas’ coldest winter in years…but every course is to some degree. The staff and members are friendly and make others feel welcome.

Country Club amenities with public price.
I live in another part of the state, but always look at the opportunity to play here because of staff, amenities, etc. would highly recommend playing here. Course was hit hard by winter storm URI and they have done great job of bringing the course back. Will be back for sure when I’m in the area.

Turf issues
Seems a ton of turf is disrupted. Fairways, greens and general conditions are poorer than recent years. Probably due to this winter’s harshness but rates have gone up considerably. Even with a Hot Rate, the course is over valued. Hopefully they will find some balance in their pricing but the traffic today suggest otherwise. I’ll try again next year, as I have better options for the price.
