About
The Wildhorse Golf Club is the first of three planned courses for the Robson Ranch Community outside of Denton. Designed by architect Gary Stephenson, the course opened the second nine in October 2002.
The signature hole is on the front, a 566-yard par 5 that requires a monster drive followed by two demanding approach shots.
Getting there : From Dallas take I-35 to Denton and look for the 35 W split. This takes you back towards the south to Fort Worth for 6 miles, where you’ll take the Robson Ranch exit. Drive 1.5 miles west and look for the course.

Slow
If you’re looking to spend 6 hours of painfully slow golf on a Sunday, this is the spot for you. We played 4 holes in 1hr 45 minutes. Thought it may be the group or 2 infront of us so we decided to skip a home or two and come to find out there was a group on every green, fairway, tee box, and waiting to hit on every single hole on the course. What a great way to manage a course! If you enjoy slow play, look no further.

I like the course but likely won't play again
We had the first tee time and played front 9 in about 1.5 hours. When we got to the 1st tee on the 2nd 9, there were already 4 groups on that hole! We were the 5th group and 3rd on the tee!
How can they schedule it so the 1st group off hits a major back up when hitting the back 9? Back 9 took 2.75 hours., for a total of about 4.5 hours...way too long for the first tee time of the day! To make matters worse, there was an extremely slow 4 some playing from the wrong tees...played red, should have been silver. There was no marshal to speed things up.
Too many DFW golf choices to pay $80 and wait 5+ minutes on every hole on the back.
You'll see from my ratings that I like the course but not enough to put up with that. I won't return.

like the course, too bad I'll likely never play again
I have not played Wildhorse since the 3rd 9 opened a year ago...maybe they're still learning how to coordinate the tee times. We were the first tee time and played first 9 in about 1.75 hours. When we made the turn to the next 9, there were already 4 groups on the par 5, which was the first hole on our 2nd 9! Needless to say, the back 9 was excruciatingly slow...2.75 hours.
By the way, we searched several courses to get the first tee time because we had commitments in early afternoon and did not expect a 4.5 hour round since we were the first group off.
I don't understand how can they time the nines so the first group off runs into a back-up on the back 9.
As you can see from my ratings, I like the course and it was in great shape! But I'll not subject myself to the 5+ minute wait on almost every hole on the second nine. There are just too many options from which to choose to put up with that.
P.S.: no marshals ..that contributed to the slow play. there was a foursome playing from the wrong tees. Painful to watch.

Nice course, a little on the pricey side
Wildhorse is a good test of golf, windy and challenging. But the course is in really nice shape, and the scoring opportunities are there. Solid round of golf, and worth the drive from McKinney.

Poor t-time scheduling
My friend and I were the first to tee off and we played the front 9 in 90 minutes. When we made the turn there were 3 groups waiting to tee off. The back nine took just south of 3 hours to finish. Completely ruined the playing experience. We picked the first tee time so we could play the round in 3 to 3.5 hrs. We drove close to an hour, in the fog no less, to play wildhorse. We could have played anywhere in the metro-plex for the money we spent. To make it worse, we mentioned it to one of the staff as we were leaving so they could pass it along to the pro shop team. His response was to let us know it happens frequently. Not what we wanted to hear. The course is great. A little pricey though.

Very nice friendly atmosphere
Really enjoyed the locals that I was paired with. Very helpful and friendly. Speedy, very challenging but fair greens that demand focus or you'll lose strokes. Enjoyed my round.

Do not bring your kids to hangout or play with you...
They were about to tell us to kick rocks because my son and myself tried to get a round in on a road trip to Okc. It’s a senior living golf course, had no idea Kids are not aloud was not stated on golf now. They told me I would have to call Golf now to get my money back, I got pretty mad and then they let me play. Course is in good condition but the people are not in good condition with kids at all.
