About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Course is in excellent shape
Teal Bend is a very good layout in excellent shape. Not overwatered like many other courses in the area (in response to very hot summer). Green fairways with moderate runout but not soft; greens and tee boxes in very good shape. Usually the winter 'go to' course since it drains so well but a great place to play now. Very fair course; a few tight fairways and trouble around the greens but you can score well if accurate and be punished if not. Pace was good, practice facilities are very good.
greens were just poked
It made the whole round suck. Thank god I only paid $25. fairways were moderate. The great thing was they hooked us up with two other cool guys. They made it fun, we all fed off each others personalities.
Terrible conditions
Booked to play here and no mention of punched greens until we show up to play. Punched greens was an understatement. Sand was an inch thick in some places on the green and absolutely drenched.. multiple puddles and basically made the sand mud. Made it to the second hole… asked for money back or at least a voucher to come back later. He said absolutely not because he told me they were punched. Ive played plenty of punched greens with no issue. This was very misleading. Will never play here again.
Could be better
This course has potential to be great but I don't understand why they don't cut the fairways shorter. This course would be awesome if they would cut the fairway grass shorter. Hopefully they do in the future
I really enjoyed this course. The guy in the club house that took my money could have been a little more pleasant, but over all I gave it a bunch of stars.
Fast Round
The course is in good condition. Not busy, so I played on my own. Greens are always in good condition.
What pace?
I was single and they put me behind a fivesome. Oh joy! I was able to play through a few groups and then gridlock. Play in the afternoon if you want to avoid the six hour around. Course was in good shape and see where the greens. Headed straight or bring a lot of balls.
Surprised
This course was a great surprise. Visiting from outside the area, I only wanted something simple, cheap, and easy. Everything about this course was nice. Even the thicker rough was manicured and fair. The greens were perfect. Course design was fun and the thick trees made the trip around relaxing. No complaints.
Fun… but
Course needs some trees cut back, and greens are perpetually spongy… but overall a good test and fun track.
