Cherry Island Golf Course

Purchased a 'Hot Deal' the day before, then got on their website and saw they were running 6 minute tee-times, which is always a red flag to me that there is some sort of event going on. Called the course, asked if there was anything going on in the morning thru 3 PM, as it seemed they were trying to load tee times after an event and taking advantage of daylight savings time, guy on the phone said no events. Got to the course, and there as a huge US Kids event. 3 hours and 10 minutes to play 9 holes. This was one of the worst cash grabs I've ever seen.

I was put behind a fivesome that was slower than molasses and had no idea how slow they were. I stopped at 9 holes to tell a marshal they had two open holes ahead of them, and he was too busy watching a movie on his iPhone to bother!!!!!

I will not be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both front and back group were slow.

Had a lot time to practice and look for lost balls

After 3 days of rain, the course was still great. There were no restrictions; we were able to drive carts onto the fairway, a testament to good drainage. Great challenging course. Highly recommend.

I’ve only played here one other time in the past, and that time was pretty dang good.

On this day, however, I played the SLOWEST round of my life. First, I show up and am notified my tee time got pushed back by 30 minutes with no notice in advance. Proceed to the tee box.

I’m told that there’s a 25-man/pair tournament going on, and that we’re next after the last group in the tournament. These were all old people who moved at a very slow pace; one guy had oxygen, other had a walker, mulligans after mulligans, etc. I understand that they are just out trying to have fun, but these planned tournaments need to be planned out better and the public should be notified of their intent to hold a tournament.

A course that would typically take me 3:30-4:00 hours to complete took us close to 6:00 hours. Unacceptable. And we still ended up paying full price.

The fairways were decent; a majority of it was grass on top of a hard compacted soil, which added to the difficulty. The grass range could use some TLC and/or grading.

Shop and food/bar is great; breakfast burritos were great.

Overall, would love to give it another shot on a non-tournament day.

I went as a single today, the Marshall at the first tee paired me with another single who was a much better golf then I. Ended up have a great day playing with this young man, his advise work very well for me.

Love playing Cherry Island. Always want my swing pretty solid to play there. Staff is always great. The girls in the snack place fantastic. Always a good vibe. Lots of grass on the range this time, but the balls are "getting tired". Heavy rain near, thunder & lightning. Had me on edge, but it faded off, luckily. Miserable pairing though (won't say any more - it's happened to us all). Made for a miserable day. The course played long. Good challenge. Loved it. Played the blues all the way back. Get out to Cherry Island & enjoy the course. Excellent true greens, usually good fairways & bunkers. Hit one bunker w/ nice sand. Fairways a bit shaggy though Numerous hazards. Can't wait back to get back!

The course was very well watered, and so lush and green. they always have the water to keep it in great conditionwhen it is so hot outside.

So many ball marks that aren’t repaired! Please people repair your ball marks, and one or two others while you’re at it.

Always been very helpful and friendly. One drawback is that the course grill closes too early.

The course is nice and there are a few challenging holes. I am an intermediate player and you have to hit straight. It's a good challenge and I would definitely come back. Wish there was water jugs on the course.

I am a beginner/intermediate golfer, so this course was tough for me. I love the challenging layout. We played late morning and it was pretty wide open so the pace of play was awesome I will definitely come back.
