Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Disappointed with the experience
Was able to get a mid-day tee time, but was not told that a tournament had been scheduled earlier in the day. This lead to EXTREME backups. We had several occasions on the front 9 where three groups were standing awaiting to hit their shots. Worst I've seen. Management had no Marshall to keep pace of play going.
I was perhaps most disappointed with the course conditions. The fairways looked like they hadn't been cut in a week. Hard to tell where the rough began. The greens rolled good, but the tee boxes were also uncut and needed attention
Overall, very disappointed. There are much better options in the area.
Sacramento Gem
This course is hidden away near the airport but you would never know it. Very quiet and private layout with interesting holes and plenty of challenges. But overall not an unfair or extremely difficult course from the forward tees. Greens are good, maintained well throughout.
Recommended for all levels - good value and good speed of play.
Played This Friday
The course today was super slow, waited at every tee box for at least 3 minutes, sometimes 7. It was windy, but still the conditions weren't great. The greens must have been punched recently because there were holes and they were so slow. Boring round
Teal Bend
Although the greens were being aerated, the majority of them played really well. Only a handful of the greens were bumpy. The fairways, the few that I hit, were in good shape. Overall, great deal for Teal Bend.
Teal Bend, always worth it!!
from the moment you pull through the gates until the time you leave, everything is a great atmosphere. friendly staff, great driving range, great value and excellent layout.
Locally best course for value.
I have been playing this course for over twenty five years. The value for a municipal is unmatched. The staff and local pro Dave Carr are incredibly dedicated to each golfer irrespective of their abilities in the game. Teal has been and will always be my favorite local course in Sacramento county.
Teal is a mess
This WAS one of my favorite courses In the Sacramento area. I had not played there in almost a year because of the (high) pricing on weekends and not many price breaks.
I always love the pro shop and course staff there -however the course is in terrible condition! It is so dry it out the grass is patchy and clumpy around the greens. The greens have Pok marks all over them from balls. Nobody was raking the bunkers and/or they don't even appear to have been groomed from the previous day Because unfortunately I was in the sand several times in the feet prints that were in there seemed older than just from the morning. And just the sheer level of foot prints in the bunkers tells me they probably weren't even raked Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Additionally the toilets out on the course were not cleaned/Like the toilet bowls are never brushed and there's a very humongous buildup. Really disgusting.
It's a shame because once you start letting things go to pot -some people will start treating your course without respect..
Also just in general around the grounds there is clutter/mess in the form of tree branches/other material piled up.
Course has allowed cut-thru's Around tea boxes and greens To become dirt paths instead of putting up barricades so carts don't drive through areas. And in turn- the entire area looks shagg. (Between holes 2-3 for example)
Really surprising.
Luckily we only paid $50 on the weekend but I'm not gonna be rushing back there.
Bad time to play Teal
I have played Teal many times over the years. Never seeen it in such bad shape. No grass in fairways, dormant grass and the mulch layer over the tee boxes way horrible.
I know this will help make it better in a few weeks but yesterday was not good.
New tee boxes in the back side in front of the forward tees.
Should have been mentioned when booking tee time.
Hope this course gets back to what it was.
