River Oaks Golf Club

The course is in good condition. The green were smoother and the speed was more typical. Pace of play was outstanding finish under 4 hours.

229 Par 3, cool but trim up the big oak on the right side. It's beyond silly. Better yet trim the one on the left why you are at it. Without the trimming it is the worst Par 3 design I have ever played.

greens were thick grassed had to smash putts for the ball to roll anywhere. so many bugs around the practice green / driving range. annoying even with off spray

The course was in ok condition. The greens were nearly unplayably slow and bumpy. It appears the greens had been punched not long ago, and the grass has grown tall for a putting green. In general, the course grass is a bit strange. I think the type of grass is the result of the course once being under water. In some places the grass is fluffy which makes it hard to judge ball contact.

Course is in pretty good shape. The tee boxes are Bermuda grass and a little fluffy looking. The greens are in good shape and rolling true.

Very uncharacteristically slow play! At one point our threesome allowed two singles to join us and we were still waiting on literally every tee box. This was despite the fact that we were following two separate twosomes!

Also, River Oaks has done an excellent job with their bunkers, they have some of the best in the area. That said, there doesn’t seem to be any effort to rake them or maintain them. Consequently, the sand has settled due to repeated watering and they have become extremely firm and difficult to hit out of.

The course is well.maintained. I'm an intermediate golfer and found some.holes challenging. The staff was awesome. mike att the front desk was very helpful. The best part.was.aftee, they have the best tacos around.

Love the conditions nice course to play. There are a lot of mosquitoes along the second hole early in the morning so I might want to bring some bug spray. But as the sun came out stronger, they went away.

Course is in great condition. Pace of play was good. Food and drinks are amazing!

River Oaks has improved significantly!! Compared to 10yrs ago when it was under different owners. New owners really care about the condition and layout of their course. Great for seasoned golfers or beginners!! I recommend beginners try it in later hrs., (only cuz there’s a lot of golfers in the morning). Women and kids that are learning how to golf will like this course. Wide open with some hills and trees, but still challenging even for seasoned veterans of golf!!

Really really nice place to play. Yes it’s hot in the summer. But that’s why you get a cart.

Food is delicious at the bar. The tacos are tasty. The margarita was too.

This course has come back a long way from when it was closed due to flooding. I keep it as a regular stop on my golf rotation
