Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

course was in good shape
My group and I enjoyed spending our father's day at teal bend. The fairways were beautifully manicured and the greens rolled true
Nice course.. greens in good shape
Unfortunately, the Golf Now reservation did not mention that a "shotgun tournament" started 15 minutes before our scheduled 1:15pm tee time.
6 hours to play is too long
GREAT COURSE!
Wonderful course to play! Very private fairways and very fun to play!
Like to play this course.
The course is in good condition. The pro shop staff are very nice and accommodating.
Hadn't played there in quite awhile and was very impressed with course
I Walked in the door and was greated with a smile and a how are you today, good start, got a bucket of balls and was told if we finish them early we could go out a little ahead of our teetime and we did. I was very impressed with the condition of the course, fairways had roll, the rough was not so high i couldn't get out of it, I lucked out and didn't go in any traps but looking at them they looked well maintained, the greens were in awesome shape and rolled true (just wish I could putt true) all in all a very pleasant round of golf and I will be back soon
This is a fun course!
Beautiful course, lots of trees, very challenging and pace of play was perfect!
Very peaceful surroundings, no houses, etc: wildlife and natural setting makes you feel you're away from it all.
This is my favorite course in the area. The experience is always good. Facilities are adequate, clean, and a friendly staff. Simply a great place to play golf.
Overall the course was fun and in great condition
The course was in great condition, the greens were soft and fast enough to make it challenging but not extremely difficult. This was the first time playing the course so there were a few holes I hit incorrect shots but overall the course was fairly straight forward and medium difficulty to play.
The only thing I would try to improve is to add more sand to the traps. Some hazards were very low in sand.
Nice track that we will play again
I met some buddies from Redding and Auburn and I drove 2 hours. We will return. Nice track, greens are in great shape, a little windy, but where isn't? Great deal from GolfNow. Food was good after the round. Driving range with grass is nice. Many many trees provide a nice backdrop, but don't come into play that much.
Breezy Day
It was a little windy, but a nice course to play on a breezy day. Trees minimize wind on the player, but you need to be aware of it for shots going above the tree line.
Beautifully wooded course
Located next to the Sacramento river and Sacramento National Airport this course is lined with trees. It feels like a pleasant walk in the woods. We played during great weather conditions and thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Great Course for Beginners
As a relatively new golfer, Teal Bend is one of my favorite courses. It is challenging enough to make it hard, but not so difficult that takes the fun out of playing. The 17th hole cost me a sheet in balls, so lay up if you are not a long hitter. The course is in very good shape and the greens are great. Staff are very nice and cordial. The martial does a great job on course management.
This is one of my favorite courses in Sacramento
Great deal on a fabulous course
I first played this course ten years ago when I had recently moved to Sacramento. I hadn't been back since, mostly due to the course being out of my usual price range. That's not to say it's an expensive course, but I'm a 25 handicap and I try to avoid spending more than $40 to play golf...at least until I play a little better. On this day, however, I got a fabulous deal to play a wonderful course, so a friend and I took advantage of the offer. The course was a beautiful as I remember. Plenty of trees, wetlands (which can be a source of mosquitos at the wrong time of year) and well-maintained fairways and greens made for an enjoyable afternoon. The greens had been aerated some time ago and weren't completely healed yet. Some small "dimples" still remained and it cost me a stroke or two when putting, but I was playing so poorly that day that it hardly made a difference. The only major drawback to this course is that it sits just outside of Sacramento International Airport, so occasionally you have to deal with a large jet taking off over your head while playing. I only noticed it once or twice...the rest of the time I was just enjoying this beautiful tract. I would recommend the course to anyone if it fits in your budget, and to everyone if they can get a great deal booking through GolfNow like I did.
Course is very challenging from the tips.
The course was in ok shape but the greens were just aerated and sanded. Wish we would've known but not talking to live person and golf course not letting golfnow.com know was a downer!
No aerification alert
Bought the deal and was excited to play, until I find out that all the greens had a layer of sand on them. It was an awful experience. There was no aerification alert on golfnow, I deserve my money back.
Beautiful setting, many different holes, big greens
Course in good shape overall, some holes very mushy, greens great, nice mix of long and short holes. Tight on about a third of the holes. Was a little pricey, for what u got 65, thought closer to 55. Will be back but with a deal or coupon.
awesome greens... lush course
The course was in great condition. The greens were perfect. Green fees, including a cart, were only 30 bucks... No brainer...
Good layout with some challenging holes. Big, undulating greens
Good layout with some challenging holes. There was a lot of room in the fairways, but when you got up to the green there was little room for error. I was not particularly fond of the greens...they were big, undulating and looked much faster than they putted. I had difficulty getting putts to stay on line and I was fooled several times by the breaks.
Remains one of my favorite local courses
Teal Bend has been a favorite since I started playing it when it opened. This time of year, the fairways are a bit brown just due to the dormant seed, but the course always drains well so you don't get plugged balls. And the greens are always in good shape - great speed and contours. If I had Any criticism, its that they don't offer enough tee times on GolfNow.com. There are so many good courses I can play for $20-$30, I don't play at Teal as often for $40 or $50.
Winter golfing Paradise!!
I played on Saturday 12/15 after nine holes quit due to heavy rain...there were still golfers on the course as if "no big deal" got a "rain check" couldn't believe 90 degree rule in effect. It rained heavy all day 12/16 and lite on 12/17...rebooked 12/18 two hours thirty min drive.... AMAZED..bunkers were raked, fluffy sand, not washed out. Tee ball rolled in fairway, not plugging....Greens were still fast, and true. I think I cleaned mud off my ball twice the whole day....Played the ball down, didn't need to bump__Both GolfNow and the Staff in the Pro Shop were very understanding in wanting me to have an enjoyable round of golf, in granting the "rain check" ___I told my playing partner, I could play that course 365 days a year, and never get bored. It's a different course from each tee box___To top off a fantastic round of golf, the twosome that we joined, besides great personalities, were members at Granite Bay__Yep, got an invite to play it too-
