The Trails of Frisco Golf Club
About
The Trails of Frisco golf course is one of Jeff Brauer’s most unique designs -- primarily because it doesn’t fit the mold of his other courses. Brauer, who’s known for his open, straight-forward courses, designed this one to tip out to a par 71, 6,900 yards, loaded it with hidden creeks, scenic wetlands, extensive bunkering, and massive greens. In fact, first-timers will be confused here. They’ll face intimidating views off the tee that leave doubt as to the problems that loom ahead, and it is definitely possible to lose all of your balls off the tee if you’re struggling.
The golf course is just flat-out challenging, especially on the front nine. No. 1 opens up with a creek on the left that cuts in front of the green and generally makes its presence known on every shot. The play here is to stay right and stay away from its subtle presence on the left side. The creek comes into play on Nos. 2, 4, 5, and even No. 9, where it chutes from the fairway in front of the green and surrounds the green of this challenging par 4.
All told, water and waste areas are in play on 16 of 18 holes (including every par 3), and the creeks are enhanced by visible lakes and ponds on the back side, even though it is considered a bit easier than the front.

Nice, challenging course
A very nice course for the money, I really like the layout where every hole seems unique compared to most courses. Fairly difficult since there is almost always trouble on the left on the right. I personally love it.
Great New Years Round!
This course by far is one of the best values in area. Course layout, conditions and pace of play have always been great the couple times I have played it.
Staff is very friendly and helpful as well.
Definitely we will be back again.
NM
Great course! Challenging
I have played here many times and every time I do, i enjoy it. it definitely is not for the beginner. I shoot 5 or so more strokes than I usually do here vs anywhere else. I do recommend it tho.
Zen
One of the best place to have fun and enjoy nature in Frisco.
Tough but fun.
Beautiful course, between the hazards and the water it is definitely a tricky course. The greens are brutally fast but in great shape.
course closed - Rained out - How can I get a refund?
The course was close due to rain. How can I get a refund.
Always a challenge, but fun
The Trails of Frisco is a challenging, but fun course. My score is a bit higher here vs. other courses due to challenges, but a very interesting play. Some of the sand traps need work.
Fine with me
Most courses were good conditions and friendly staff... except several holes Golf cart restrictions due to the Rain.
Also several sand trap was
Couldn't play..
Nice course
Nice course, greens, fairways and bunkers all in great condition.
Where do I go
Unless you have played before, the required shots and distances are a mystery. Probably a good layout but the first time experience was not good. We renamed the course The Trials of Frisco.
Conditions
Good cars good layout but the condition of the course is a little on the rugged side
Greens were bumpy and grainy
Challenging Layout
8:30 Sunday morning round. Greens were in very good condition and putts rolled true. Marshal on the course was friendly, but kept the course moving. 4:15 for 18 holes.
Not for the average golfer
Unless you have a low handicap, I would not recommend this course. The course is beautiful but there are hazards everywhere that an average golfer would hit. Sometimes there are 2 hazards in the middle of the fairway.
I want to have fun when I play and a challenge but this was not set up for the average golfer.
Great course
Challenging yet fair, greens in fine shape, bunkers have sand... what's not to like?!
Fun course
Course layout overall does not get boring. Good for the money. Some grounds of fairways and tee boxes have become pretty hard and caught me off guard. But it’s playable if you are aware of the condition and careful. As usual, bunker doesn't have much sands.
Afternoon heat means great pace of play
Played with a "hot deal" and no one was on the course. If you've never played the course, be prepared to lose balls unless you're shots go where you're aiming at.
