Frisco Lakes Golf Club is a part of the Del Webb Frisco Lakes Community, just north of Dallas. The front nine of the course is interwoven with the community itself while the back nine sprawls across open countryside. The five sets of tees range from just over 5,000 yards to just over 7,000 yards, allowing the golf course to be played as a leisurely round or a formidable test. The challenging, well maintained greens are the course's most memorable feature. Golfers should be prepared for a back-to-back peninsula green and island green on the seventh and eighth holes. The 14th is another tough water hole that runs alongside Lake Lewisville. Water is not the only hazard at Frisco Lakes Golf Club though, there are also plenty of strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Slowest Round Ever 5 1/2+ hours

Only took 3 hrs to play the first 9 holes and we only had 3 people in our group and it wasn't cart path only. The back nine took 2 1/2 hours since some people just quit since it was so slow. A normal round should be 4- 4 1/2 hrs. Not sure why it was so backed up. They need some Marshalls on the course to move people around faster. The Pro Shop needs to get more merchandise on shelf for customers. They didn't have much for shirts or hats or anything to buy. The course is nice, but they charge way to much during normal hours. They don't even have GPS on the carts and you can't find any sprinklers with yardage. I love the layout of the course and the greens were in good shape.

Course conditions

It’s hard to get upset with a course conditions in the middle of the Texas summer. However charging someone100$ to play a course that you are playing out of dirt in the fair way is unreal. So over priced for the heat of the summer while not maintaining the course

Way better options

Spend your money elsewhere. This course is Not a $100 course. It use to be $60 - $75 course but with new ownership….. Too many better options in the North Dallas area and for less money. Go play Hertiage Ranch or Wildhorse Ranch or even play Frisco Trail, these are such better dollars per course options.

Good to see it back

I had sworn this course off a couple years ago because the condition had deteriorated so much. A friend told me to give it another try, and it is definitely back in great condition.

Only complaint is that the driving range is closed, and there was no warning of this in GolfNow. A good warmup is important to me. I would have played elsewhere if I had known this.

New management is out-kicking their coverage

I’ll start by saying I love the layout at Frisco Lakes. It’s been a favorite in my group for many years. The new management is way out over their skis, however. Greens fees have been spiking everywhere, but Frisco Lakes takes the prize. This course has always been in fantastic shape and had great staff. ~$65/round on a weekend in 2020 is now $100 in 2022, with no appreciable change in course condition or amenities.

Frankly, I’d be happy to pay the new price because I’ve been well taken care of at FL over the years. But that’s not the case anymore. They’ve been through 3 head pros in 2 years. The pro shop is staffed largely by the local high school pep squad, as far as I can tell. The driving range is closed more than it’s open. And the pace of play has ground to a halt with tee times stacked 8 mins apart.

I’m transferring out of state and won’t be playing the course regularly going forward. I’m sad to say that I’m not going to miss Frisco Lakes under this management group.

Solid through and through.

Relatively challenging, especially for your first time playing as there are 5-6 blind tee box shots. Good course overall. Marshall was a hoot and a half lol

Stepping up

Course was in great shape, except for Bunkers which need quite a bit of work. Outside of that, we really enjoyed the round, I think the higher price does keep some of the slower players out.

New ownership ?

Apparently the course recently changed ownership and they increased the price to close to $100 per round. They should have also thought out their plan to clean the bathrooms throughout the course as they were disgusting. Cart girls cart was broken, greens were in very bad shape, pro shop didn’t have much of anything to purchase, etc. Overall not worth the price at all. Overall rating is 1 star because the bathrooms are that gross.

Enjoyed Frisco Lakes

Very appealing layout. Many times easy to forget you are in the midst of a huge housing development within a community of well over 1/4 million people.

Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Sand was acceptable but not well manicured although possibly due to recent heavy rains.

I’ll definitely play again although for the higher than expected price point paid after 12 on a Friday, I’ll look for cheaper rates on other days of the week.

In Great Shape

Fairways were recently punched, but the course conditions are great. green grass everywhere. The greens looked nice too with the exception of a few holes where they were targeting old pins. We completed our round at around 4 hrs which is outstanding for a Saturday morning.

This is one of my favorite public courses in east DFW, but it's pricey. There was also a small snafu with the starter sending out a group ahead of ours because of an issue with his paperwork.
