About
Houston National Golf Club, located in the northwestern part of the city, definitely follows the old adage that "everything is bigger in Texas." This whopping course stretches to 7,337 yards from the back tees. It is a lengthy golf course no doubt, but it doesn't just favor those who can hit long. The layout has a unique links design, so long hitters will be pleased but they will have to be careful of the numerous pot bunkers and other strategically placed hazards waiting treacherously throughout. The golf course has an interesting character that sets it apart from others nearby thanks to a landscape of rolling hills and hardly any trees, a surprise since there is no shortage of trees in the area. Houston National Golf Club's wide-open links design also subjects golfers to the strong prevailing winds, making several of the holes especially tricky.

enjoyed round there is hardpan throughout course (patches dirt without grass) used coupons to get price. will play again

Ciurse was in bad shape
Course was in bad shape and fairways and greens bad conditions . I play here often but this is the worse that i have seen it in a while ... i can get a better value for my money else where

Greens in excellent condition. Fairways good, rough/mounds so so

Great course
I realize it's not country club quality but I enjoyed the course. It was challenging and the pace of play early on a Friday was excellent.

Needs Marshalls! slow pace of play
this course really needs marshals around watching the pace of play. My group decided to not play the last two holes as there was a 2 group back up on each hole. If we would of play our whole round it would of been an over 5 hour game
