Houston National Golf Club
About
Houston National Golf Club, located in the northwestern part of the city, definitely follows the old adage that "everything is bigger in Texas." This whopping course stretches to 7,337 yards from the back tees. It is a lengthy golf course no doubt, but it doesn't just favor those who can hit long. The layout has a unique links design, so long hitters will be pleased but they will have to be careful of the numerous pot bunkers and other strategically placed hazards waiting treacherously throughout. The golf course has an interesting character that sets it apart from others nearby thanks to a landscape of rolling hills and hardly any trees, a surprise since there is no shortage of trees in the area. Houston National Golf Club's wide-open links design also subjects golfers to the strong prevailing winds, making several of the holes especially tricky.

Course is in great shape. Greens were rolling really well. I moved to Houston 4 years ago and just recently played the course and I have been thoroughly pleased with my 2 rounds at the course. Will definitely be back.
Afternoon outing
Good course layout. Good course condition and pace of play excellent.
A Great Course to Play
This is a challenging course. It is very well manicured. After raining most the morning, there was virtually no standing water. This is a fun course!
Recovering from Aeration
Great course layout and amenities- Grass range, Water & Restrooms on course. Tee boxes and greens in good conditions, fairways could use some help but very playable even in the rare rough spots. Range balls and lunch included with green fees is a big plus. Just did not receive any advance notice of the greens recovering from aeration, it would be 5 five stars if they simply made an effort to give a heads up on that instead of finding out on the first green.
Enjoyable Course
Great course! Challenging, enjoyable, and a fun course. I always look forward to playing Houston National.
Good practice and warm facilities except for not having a chipping area to hit off grass. Bunkers were a joke right now. Greens had alot of weeds but as a heads up for future players, the greens do not roll true or will break like you think it should. Fairways and tee boxes were alright. Love the layout and the challenge nevertheless.
