About
Houston National Golf Club, located in the northwestern part of the city, definitely follows the old adage that "everything is bigger in Texas." This whopping course stretches to 7,337 yards from the back tees. It is a lengthy golf course no doubt, but it doesn't just favor those who can hit long. The layout has a unique links design, so long hitters will be pleased but they will have to be careful of the numerous pot bunkers and other strategically placed hazards waiting treacherously throughout. The golf course has an interesting character that sets it apart from others nearby thanks to a landscape of rolling hills and hardly any trees, a surprise since there is no shortage of trees in the area. Houston National Golf Club's wide-open links design also subjects golfers to the strong prevailing winds, making several of the holes especially tricky.

Avoid This Course
Greens are good and the rest of the course is a crap! What a shame!
Was once a great Course
As the teenagers say - "Mid". In a prior life, the course was likely very good. The layout was challenging. A 600 yard par 5 always makes this difficult. The issue is the course needs a facelift to bring it back to its glory days.
Great value!
Had a great time on the course Sunday afternoon. Course was nice. Pace of play was monitored and kept moving. Will definitely be back again.
Course is in excellent condition
Every hole is distinctive. Layout is tough but fair. Greens are exceptionally good for a course that gets a good deal of play. Players consistently fix their ball marks. Bunkers in great shape. Players consistently take the sand after themselves.
Worthy practice area.
Staff has always been helpful.
If I lived a bit closer, I would join The Golf Club of Houston
Great layout, poor condition
For $77, it was not impressive, which is a real shame given how cool & challenging the layout of the course is.
I’ve played Clear Creek in Pearland & it’s in similar conditions for $45, same with Battleground, cheaper & comparable / better conditions.
Not for walkers
Do not recommend walking this course. Extremely hilly with long distances from green to next tee. Not routed for walking. Other than that, it was fine.
Terrible… if you need a true reference for a review
Fairways are punched. No cart girl or ice in this heat. Every surface besides the green is hard and more dry than grandmas coochie. Greens were nice and that’s why it’s two stars but everything else deserves 0. Would not recommend playing here to my greatest enemy.
Bang for Your Buck
Round, practice balls, cart and launch! Great value for a great day .Highly recommend if you're looking for a challenging spot that's well maintaind for under a 100 (at least I've never paid more)
