Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Course Conditions Need Help
I do like the Sienna course and the layout. Historically it has been a good course to play. It just needs some work. Not sure what is going on with the sprinkler system but its obviously not working in large sections of the course. Tee boxes just about devoid of grass and large cracking clays around many of the greens. The greens have seen some improvement but when the crew is watering half the holes by hand when you come up on them it becomes challenging to putt. And please fix the cart paths. Someone is going to get hurt. Just a little bit of TLC and the course would be great.
Course was in good shape. Staff was friendly. Terrible bugs. Thought about quitting after 9 because of the gnats.

Terrible Condition
This course is in terrible condition, it’s obvious that the same people running Greatwood into the ground are running this course as well. It’s a shame, this used to be a good course. I feel sorry for the members here, this place is a complete waste of money

Greens in horrible shape
We have enjoyed this course over the years and usually good value for money It has been 18 months since I played here and was shocked to see the conditions of the greens — they have lots of bare patches without grass, and the rest is lumpy with different grass textures - they may be in the process of trying to save these greens but they were way below average condition - I would caution against playing until they get the greens in shape

Just needs some TLC but good course.
It was a wet day with all the rain we've been getting. So I expected it to be cart path only and quite soggy. We only got rain during one of the holes though. I would say that the pace of play for a Friday was really good. We only had a few holes where we needed to wait on the group ahead of us. Played a four hour round so it was good. Fairways were good considering the rain from the prior week. I love the layout. Most holes have something special, very few generic holes, but they don't get too coy with the layout. Maybe 18 is a little over the top, but I played it well so I'm not complaining. Greens are in horrible shape. I would say they are still recovering from the freeze, but I've played 4 other courses in the past couple of weeks and they didn't have a problem. Get the greens under control, smoothed out, and fix the cart path on 17, and its a good course.
Not Worth The Money
Having played there many times over the years, I really like the layout. The fairways were in decent condition this weekend. However, the greens are in terrible condition. There were bumpy, sandy in regions (no grass) and inconsistent. They have not been able to get the greens in decent shape for well over a decade.
I wouldn't waste your money here.

first time played
The course was challenging, first time played.greens were ok recovering from freeze. wide open greens.view was great...
This course can be good
This course has the potential if it is maintained. The greens were bad and the fairways were not maintained very well.

Great layout, meh conditions
Conditions are a little rough. For a course priced at $60, it’s not a good value with current conditions. Most courses around town are still recovering from the February freeze.
Layout is fun. Hopefully by summertime greens and fairways will be improved.
