About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Layout
The overall layout at this course
Is challenging
The condition of the greens for this time of the year was acceptable
The price for playing on this course during the week is reasonable
Unfortunately there was a group of people playing very slow
But I guess they paid to play
This was not the first time we played at this golf course and we will return

Cold and rainy
The course is in much better shape than it was a year ago. Last year greens were in horrible condition. However, this round was much better.
Not worth the $$
Greens were ok but had grass tuffs that redirects putts. Tee boxes were very hard making it difficult to tee the ball. It was winter conditions so hopefully the spring and summer months will be better.

Slow pace of play
Great looking course but definitely need a Marshall out there! Pace of play was terrible, began at 12.50 and did not finish until 5.30.
Winter Condition
Always a great layout. Fairways tight and damp.
Sand ok but felt like playing out of clay.
Greens good and very playable-little slow.

Sienna Continues to Disappoint
Younger guy in the clubhouse with dark hair and thin beard is the worst. He just has a horrible attitude. Dude, if you don’t like people you should not be in the service business.
Course is in reasonably good shape though broken sprinkler heads dot the course and cause large soft areas and wild hogs have ripped up a number of fairways with no repair for over two months.
Bar in the clubhouse closes well before golfers are off the course and there is no drink cart.
Talking about carts . . . . the rental carts are horrible. For a course with elevation changes you need a parking break on your cart, right? The folks at Sienna don’t think so. The parking breaks don’t work on the carts. Further, most carts are tired and slow and most tires are bald.

Where are the marshals?
Very busy day. Eight-minute tee times.
Not a single marshal to be seen on the course during our nearly FIVE-HOUR round! We had to wait on nearly every shot. On three of the par-five holes, there were FOUR groups of players. The foursome ahead of us quit with two holes to go.
Surely the head pro/management can send out marshals to keep players moving at a reasonable pace.
