Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

worst staff in the office
i just experienced the worst golf, specially the staff in the office.
This is a fun course and a great deal!
Very good value for the money! I often find deals for this course and it is pretty close to my house. Occasionally you have to wait for golf carts to return and it can delay tee times. Everyone I’ve been paired up with has been very nice and also the staff, too. Tee boxes and fairways can be pretty hard which can make getting a tee into the ground a bit tough. However, you can get a lot of extra distance off of drives because of the hard fairways. Although don’t expect to make a big divot. It’s easy to lose balls on a lot of holes (even in the rough) with fields/trees/woods. I wish there were more bunkers to trap a ball instead of losing it. I rarely ever have to play out of a bunker here. They recently cut down a bunch of fields on the 18th hole for this reason, I believe. It’s a par 5 and had a big field around 270 yards running perpendicular. On the last hole you shouldn’t be punished for ripping it down the fairway. It should be fun, so I’m glad they are changing it.
Staff not friendly
Some of the most unfriendly staff I have met on a golf course. Staff was just rude. Won’t play there again.

Course has a good layout and was in very good condition. There was a twenty five minute wait to get a cart and the starter told another customer that he would have to ride with a stranger or get a refund. Bad business during a pandemic!
how to get a rain check because of heavy rain?
It's rainning heavily when I was palying. I needed a rain check, but the course told me to contact GOLFNOW. I didn't find any clue how to get a rain check on the GN website. It's really upset.
Waste of Time, Money & Gas
Save your money, this course is a rip-off! The staff minus the starter & cart lady are horrible, especially the pro shop attendant. In the middle of a pandemic and they charged an additional $15 on top of the $18 they already made for cart fees for a single riders. The course is in terrible shape, It definitely needs water, the greens are bumpy and long , w/ tire tracks all the way up to the greens, the fairways are dry and cracked w/ little to no grass and the bunkers are unplayable. This definitely my 1st and last time playing at this course, don’t waste your money, time, or gas it’s not worth it.

Getting Better
Played a couple month ago and the greens were terrible. They are much improved. The carts are a bit work and mine had a parking break that did not function.. Nice layout and its only a 30 minute drive from Museum District. Will be back I'm sure.

A waste of time, money and gas
July 12, was supposed to be a great day to get out with a couple of buddies and have a great round of golf. We found Sienna plantations on GN for a reasonable price, with an early tee time, so we were excited to get out and play. All things changed once arriving at the course. No social distancing, except for inside the clubhouse. The customer service was horrible, to say the least at check-in. I was charged an additional $15 cost in addition to the $18 original charge for a separate cart from playing partner. This was unexpected since a number of courses we have played during the time of pandemic are utilizing the 1 person 1 cart service. As for the course, it really needs some care, bunkers were muddy, tee-boxes were cracked and dry as the desert, it was like trying to stick a tee in a brick. They definitely need some type of irrigation sprinkler system. Kudos to Gene, Tony, and Joe guys in my group, they made the golf outing fun in spite of the conditions. The greens were bumpy and long w/ numerous ball marks, the fairways were super dry and cracked and definitely had not been watered anytime recently and I have never seen so many tire tracks around the fringe of the green, but that may not be the fault of course management. At the end of the day, I can't see myself playing this course again. There are just too many negatives that I experienced in which I wanted to inform the next patron with a buyer be aware which caused me to write this review. The course really should think about cutting their prices or closed to make the necessary repairs and upkeep of the course. Their customer service definitely needs some training, bc there are too many courses to play in the Houston area. Save your time, money, and gas if you are thinking about playing this course, but if you do, don't say you weren't warned.

First time playing
This is a great place to play. Greens were in excellent condition. Good for any skill level. Will play again!
Needs work
Greens need a complete makeover. Makes for a very frustrating round. Course layout is nice though. We made the long trip to try out a new course but will not be back.

Mixed Picture
I play here quite often.
Nice layout with teeth. Solid design.
Good course when dry.
Fine staff members - friendly and helpful
19th hole food and beverage are excellent
Greens improving but still slow. Need improvement.
Manicuring around green areas still a need
Driving range is dust and sand with no club stands. Disappointing.
Course drains poorly in several spots - avoid day after a significant rain.
When dry, the tee box can be so hard you cannot put a tee into the ground.
Terrible website - needs replacement badly.

Great!
First time to play and I have to go back! This course was great! Loved the textures of this course. Far cry from the flat and plain courses I have played. Forgiving fairways! Super fun to play!
Thick grass
Course was very green and well taken care of. It had rained M-Th and I played on a Friday. Greens are thick and didn’t roll to much, could have been from the grass that hadn’t had a chance to be mowed yet from all the rain. Would recommend and will play again.
Overall it's a good course to play
Love the layout of each hole. Front 9 greens are bumpy and frustrating. Back 9 greens are in much better shape and play like they should. Sienna is a fair and fun course to play
