Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Never Again!!
The course it self was whatever. The greens had some damage. The reason I think this course was bad was because of the other people there and the rude staff. We played in the middle of the corona pendemic and when we tried to take our own water. We were met with the rude bartender that said that we couldn’t take our cooler with us. I said that’s fine we’ll buy our drinks here but would prefer to put them in our own cooler since all they had to offer was a plastic bag with ice. She was rude and insisted that some “kids” snuck in some alcohol one time in water bottles. Again nothing to do with me and me and my friend are 30 year olds. She had a bad attitude and treated the “regulars” first and said to us it’s because they are club members. After that whole thing we started playing the back 9 and a group of 4 claimed we skipped their spot and that we had to go after them. This was in the middle of the corona pendemic I really did have anywhere to go so I just let them go first. It was just annoying on how bad the day can get over peoples rudeness. Overall the course was whatever so I am definitely not ever going back. There’s better courses and cheaper try Quail Valley waaaayyy better.
Good timed to be had.
Good layout. Hard fast greens which are par for the course in Houston.
Awful conditions
Wow......I have been playing golf across the country for many years. I have played from the likes of Bandon Dunes down to the lowest quality city courses.
I have never witnessed greens in such awful conditions. They are frankly unplayable. On hole 3 we decided no one can take more that a 2-putt. Invasive grass, missing grass, sand, random areas of new sod. I wish it was just a one time occurrence, but this is the new normal.
Whoever is in charge of this course should be embarrassed honestly. HIRE A MAINTENANCE CREW and a super with knowledge.
These greens will never rebound, they have lost them. It’s a shame because the layout of the course is great.
The greens were so bad it made the rock hard tee boxes seem insignificant. Weeds all over the course as well. If you try to hit balls at the range it will be equivalent to hitting off cement.
How do you possibly think this course is worth $48........?
Honestly there isn’t an excuse that exists for these conditions. Lack of care is the answer. I wouldn’t pay $10 to play this course again.

Cost to high
Cost to high for the course at this time when there are so many other courses to play for a lot less at same or better quality.

Bad course
This course was in terrible condition. The tees and greens were probably the worst I’ve played in years. Stay away from this course until there’s a complete makeover .

Wait to play
Greens were punched recently, front 9, almost unplayable. Back 9 near as bad, but not good. I like the course layout, some challenging holes, but definitely wait a few weeks.
They are always un-playable. I wish it was only going to be a few weeks.......
Greens poor conditions
Greens bad conditions. Looks like it’s gonna be a while for the greens to be average

Greens
They just punched the greens. Going to be fast soon
Greens not conducive to good putting,....grass not consistent, bare spots on greens, many rough places.
Quit playing Sienna 6 week ago due to greens being awful. Greens have improved; however still not in very good shape. Cannot read putts because of bare spots, weeds and bumpy conditions. Remainder of course, fairways and tee boxes fine.

Could've been better
The greens and some tee boxes were not in very good shape. The overall course was nice, but we broke numerous tees because the some of the boxes were so dry and hard.
No bueno
The greens and the tee boxes are in bad shape! I’ve played here a couple of times, but they have never been this bad. I will say that the bunkers aren’t that bad. I found myself in there more often than not. I won’t be back playing here for awhile until I know the tees and greens are in much better shape.
