Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Getting Better!
The course continues to improve from the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Great layout, but the entire course is very firm. Greens would be great if they would roll them to smooth them out,. The greens speed is about 8 which is not bad, but they are bumpy.
First time, last time.
I have been invited to play by a friend and resident of Sienna, but never could make the time. Finally I see a decent deal on Golfnow.com. It's wasn't easy to find the club house, not good signage on the course at all. We didn't know where to go after the first hole. We were sent underground to the otherside of the street.
Coming off, I believe was 15 or 16, the last par five, we literally had to drive across a four lane street with heavy traffic. We drove up and down the street looking for a safe place to cross.
But that wasn't our biggest issue. SLOW PLAY!!!
The play was slow and took us about five hours to complete a round. We were a threesome with a twosome behand us. Here is the kicker. On a Friday a Weekend, we had a group of six in front of us and two groups of five infront of them!! I only thought that happened in the country!
We literally had to sit five to ten minutes on some holes. So much for rhythm!.
We did call the clubhouse in hopes they would fix it, but Pandora was out of her box. Well, the good news about such a bad review, you won't ever get another one from me. #firstlmpressions
Cut the greens
Course in good condition, greens play way to slow. Depressing in seeing that course was dry. Seemed they trimmed the greens but would be better if that just cut them.
Upsetting
Just frustrating and upset, I don't mind a good drive to get to a course. But with that being said, I don't like driving over a hour to get there early to hit balls and the range is closed, cart path only and no snack bar due to renovations. I haven't played here in a long time and was looking forward to playing it. It would be nice to know ahead of time about these conditions. Now I might not go back, I could of stayed closer to home and had better conditions. It would be nice if somehow GolfNow could incorporate these conditions into there screen before you book. It wasn't the courses fault, but it would've nice to be able to know these and be able to choose somewhere else to play.
Course sucks!
No cart girl, debris still all over the course, no grass on tee box, driving range and greens are in horrible condition.
Everything a player could ask for
Course was in great shape for Mid-January. Course had 200+ par 3’s, dog leg lefts forcing you to play a draw on a 3 wood, dog leg rights forcing you to skirt tree lines, elevated greens, and more. As of now my favorite course in Houston, minus the renovations still being done from Harvey (no bar or drink cart).
nice day
great weather, great partner, greens a little bumpy, fairways too tight in places, but still a great day
Nice Day at Course
Played on Friday after Thanksgiving with my son and 2 friends. Course was in good condition and weather was great. Club house and amenities are still under repair from the tornado 6 months ago and I imagine some flooding from Hurricane Harvey. Pace of play was a little slow as there was a 5 some in front of us but as day went on things picked up to point that we generally could see them but were not waiting on them. Had an enjoyable round of golf despite the lack of restaurant and the cart person not being around on the back nine at all.
Too Slow
It was over 5 1/2 hours to play starting at noon. It's on the course to keep the t-times spread and players moving. There is no reason a round of golf should take that long. This course is pretty decent for the money as far as interesting layout. The conditions are hit or miss and they are still recovering from the tornado and hurricane.
Very nice course
It was my 1st time playing this course and I really liked it. The par 3's were my favorite holes. The fairways, although wide, have houses that are fairly close. And the houses are beautiful which add to the enjoyment of the round. Course was in good shape. Greens were quick and rolled true. Tee boxes needed some attention. Fairways and bunkers were great.
Getting it back together
For all the damage that you sustained through Harvey, you guys are doing a great job of getting the course up and running. It was in good shape
Slow
The course was wet, but ok.
Pace of play was awful.
I will not return.
Fun Course
Layout was great. Course was well kept and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed it.
The grrens were obviously cut with a tractor because it left tire print with grooves which left them impossible putt.
Pleasant
Course was well kept. Common courtesy on a group was not there. If you are playing a group of five you should not be spending much time to Easter hunt. Let the group behind pass. Another group kept on dropping balls while we are chipping towards the green. Rude. Can't play any faster if we have a group of five in front of us. Other than that I will recommend.
Terrible golf etiquette
I played solo, caught up to a group of 5 at the 3rd hole. I didn't mind, wasn't in a hurry. Got to 5th hole, one guy makes a comment that there are 2 more groups of 5 in front of them and doesn't offer to let me play through. I say, no problem, wait patiently. I get done with the 9th hole and noticed that the group that was in front of me is hanging at the club house. I drive through to the 10th hole. I run in to the next group of 5. I wait patiently, well the group that was in front of me show up...one guy tells me, we were in front of you, you can play the front nine again. I get in my cart and drive off. I will never return to Sienna course again...
