Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

great course
greens still recovering from aeration, still a great course, will go back
Fairways
So much better. They let them grow a bit. Thank you.
Good layout, needs TLC
Solid layout, fun and challenging. Needs a lot of TLC. Greens are rebounding from aeration. But overall, just needs some attention. Don't know if it is a lack of funds, but it could be a great venue for a huge community that deserves a great golf course.
Aerification
I played on 5/22/18. I love this course. I don't know who is to blame for not posting the condition of the greens. I was told at check in that the greens had just been punched the day before. So I'll give both GolfNow and Sienna a pass. I looked today, and there is no mention of the aerification of the greens. Who is dropping the ball?
Waste of time and money
Booked through GolfNow. Arrived for a 1036 Tee time at 1000. Checked in, got cart, putted for 15 Minutes and Tee'd off. Good drive on #1, 120yds out, noticed a tractor on the green.??? They were tearing up all of the greens????? No one in the Pro Shop said a thing!!!!! Took a look around and sure enough, all the greens were tore up. Had to wait in line at the pro shop as other golfers were just as upset. Filed at cancellation with GolfNow for a refund.....7 to 10 days..... What a deal this was!
fairways are still recovering from winter freeze. now that the weather is getting warmer and with the sprinklers turned on, i'm sure fairways will be softer along with the grass growing. Very nice course.
Gem in the Woods and Neighborhood
Having been familiar with the area, I had yet to play here. the course is tree-lined, winding through a subdivision of nice houses and has some challenging shot selections (wish i had a local with knowledge to help guide me). BUT, the course was in EXCELLENT condition overall, even though the greens were still suffering a little from winter grass. very enjoyable round, and i will look for opportunities to play here again. i shot a 95 (avg score) without knowing the layout at all.
Sienna
A cold front came through and the wind picked up and the temperature dropped almost 25 degrees. And of course the scores on the back nine went up from the front nine. but over all we had a great day. The course is in spring conditions, but very playable. Staff very nice and the food was great.
star
i thought the course was in excellant conditions , finished in good time
Eightsome?
My heart goes out to the community of Sienna Plantation as their community as well as the golf course were hit really hard by hurricane Harvey. The tornadoes related to Harvey did quite a bit of damage to the community and the golf course. Knowing the damage that happened the course is miraculously playable and okay. The problem was the two sixsomes and even an eightsome that we had to playbehind. No Marshall in sight. We will not be returning. There’s was a guy in cowboy boots playing in the eightsome!
Great course
Course is in great shape and a fun layout. Aside from the par 3 14th that has some patchy areas these are the best rolling and truest greens in all of Houston. Also a bit speedy. Can’t wait to get back out there.
Getting Better!
The course continues to improve from the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Great layout, but the entire course is very firm. Greens would be great if they would roll them to smooth them out,. The greens speed is about 8 which is not bad, but they are bumpy.
Have you ever played Cypress Lakes how do the greens compare to them
Have you ever played Cypress Lakes how do they compare to those greens?
