Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Terrible golf etiquette
I played solo, caught up to a group of 5 at the 3rd hole. I didn't mind, wasn't in a hurry. Got to 5th hole, one guy makes a comment that there are 2 more groups of 5 in front of them and doesn't offer to let me play through. I say, no problem, wait patiently. I get done with the 9th hole and noticed that the group that was in front of me is hanging at the club house. I drive through to the 10th hole. I run in to the next group of 5. I wait patiently, well the group that was in front of me show up...one guy tells me, we were in front of you, you can play the front nine again. I get in my cart and drive off. I will never return to Sienna course again...
Needs Serious Improvement!!
This is not a "real" golf course. Management of this course is in need of significant improvement!! Here is why:
-Greens are terrible! No grass!
-Fairways need attention-too short and thin!
-Bunker rakes are old and leave fiberglass slivers in you hand! (Unacceptable)
-Ground crew is oblivious to golfers and do not understand golf etiquette! ( we were on the green, worker mowing with large diesel tractor with multiple mowers driving in circles around green and so loud our group could not communicate) This type of behavior has occurred numerous times while playing!
-Price for all this too high for course conditions
All of this is a Management problem as other area courses are not like this.
Course was in great shape although the greens were a little bumpy and had been recently sanded
Nice layout BUT..
Nice course BUT the greens were horrible. More sand than grass and as hard as concrete. Not worth the price even with the GolfNow HotDeal discount.
Great Deal, Great Layout
Course was very good as it was my first time playing. Reading the other reviews I understand some of the concerns. Better signage to guide where to turn would certainly help. You are playing among a housing development so you should expect houses. Course starts getting tight on hole 9 but still very appropriate. Pearland CC is tighter with houses. This is a good challenging back nine and I would definitely play again for $24. Seems to be an appropriate $50/18 hole course. Greens rolled nice and employees were friendly.
Diamond in the ruff
This is a course layout that would stumo the pros. It is absolutely stunning, and a scorers worst nightmare! Love this course! Worth every penny. Tha k you guys!
Very hard and fast greens
Great layout with some beautiful holes. The greens were very tough and fast. They really need new carts. All in all great course for the $25 hot deal.
Management and Staff
I live here in Sienna but I try not play here because of the poor customer service that are display by owner and staff (ZACK) day in and day out. I put up with it once in awhile because of the great deal that golfnow put out bit today is the last time I will play here. I booked my tee time at 11 and when I checked in. Zack told me that I will be playing with another gentleman at 11 and hes on the driving range. I walked over to the drving range to find out that the gentleman tee time was at 1124.
Walked back to the clubhouse to tell ZACK and he told me that im causing trouble by booking on golfnow and to walk myself back to the drving range. Good course but take your money to QV to save yourself the trouble...
Poor green condition
The greens were in very poor condition. It was very dry and hardly any grass on them. Felt like I was putting on cement.
Greens disappainting
cold weather may have taken their toll but the greens were in bad shape.. All sand very little grass. Too bad since the course is terrific when it is in good condition
Spring Time Trans
The course just experienced a heavy rain so there was still some debris in low areas and Sand traps were still wet. Fairways could be cut longer, was like hitting on hard pan. Greens were firm and fast, hard to get a ball to hold. Still needed to make spring sanding. It was scheduled for the next day. Overall good public course for the price. Nice layout.
Amazing Quality for March
My wife and I had a great time. It was a cloudy day and my round at 11am began with 54-degree weather. The course was pretty quiet, which I loved, but would pick up by noon.
For coming off of winter, the course was in amazing shape. My putts were quick and ran through the break a bit because of leftover sand, but overall the fairways and greens were stellar. The course was a bit soggy due to some weekend rain, but it definitely was fair and scoreable.
The only 2 drawbacks were the lack of friendly smiles or any sort of direction from the pro shop and a lack of signage in certain areas. If I hadn't run into some locals, I'd have had NO idea how to get to each successive hole.
Overall, I absolutely loved this course and the quality.
