Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Fun track
Never played Sienna until 4/27/2024. Course was in great condition other than the greens being aerated recently. Pace of play was good, fairways and tee boxes in excellent condition. Would recommend enjoying this track in about a month from now when greens aren't sandy. Definitely will play Sienna again.
Good layout, Greens sanded but improving
First time playing in 8 years. Layout is fun-variety of doglegs, drivable par 4s, long par 3s and mounding. Good pace of play and friendly folks to deal with. Greens were sandy from aerification, but when they grow in will be even better.
Greens are being sanded and seeded and will be outstanding in a few weeks.
Good Course but needs some upkeep
Used the Hot Deal. I think was around 40.
Course was in pretty good shape for getting about 2 inches of rain earlier in the morning.
Some course were closed. Sienna was cart path only. The course was fairly dry or just wet. But not alot of standing water on the course. Was never in any standing water on the fairways or in the rough. The Greens were kinda inconsistent. Some had little sprouts of grass that made the putting bumpy or took your ball off line. The employee in the pro shop could barely engaged with me. While ringing me up. Asked about a bucket of balls. He told me the range was closed. "We had 2 inches of rain." Like i should have known it would be closed.
Definitely not winning any Congeniality contest. Basically, It looked like I was bothering him.
No Beverage cart on course. Not a big deal for me. but maybe for others. Did have water on the course.
The one employee that is a constant pleasure to talk to is the Professional/ insturctor Neil Wilkins. Always great to talk to and hang out with.
He is busy instructing students.
Hope they can put more care in the greens. The course is fun to play.
Potential to be a great course to play
The proshop the employee could have been more attentive. Very ho hum kind of guy. Not really enthusiatic about being there or wanting to talk to me. Didn't seem like he wanted to explain anything.
It did rain earlier in the morning. So conditions were wet. Cart path only. Tee boxes were all right. Fairways were not overly wet. Diviots were more of a muddy consistency. Not alot of standing water on the fairways. The greens were not consistent. Some had areas were the greens effected the greens. Moved the ball due to a bump.
The pro instructor is very nice and easy to talk to. The pro shop attendant could learn from him.

Where's the Greens?
I'll keep this short and simple. Great course layout. Decent range and chipping green. Fairways are average. But, the Greens...the course should be ashamed to charge full price for such a poor product. There is no grass on these greens. Get it together or charge less.

Hard but not in a fun way
Too many wet and rough bush hazards in middle of fairway, too many hills/mounds blocking view of layout, unless you play here frequently, you have no idea where your shot will end up on fairway

Great course.
As a new golfer I have only visited a handful of courses, however this one is the nicest one. Just booked another round.
In rough shape
The greens are littered with weeds and do not roll smooth. There were a number of putts where we laughed at the bumps along the way. There were 2 foot tall weeds alongside a green-side bunker, numerous broken sprinkler heads, and ground is as hard as a rock. They also need to learn to not water a fairway mid-afternoon on a Friday.

Not worth the money
Haven’t played this course in over 15 yrs .. and man it was not worth the hr drive and the price.. Course is in bad shape and to think it’s surrounded by million dollar homes . Membership must be way down and also not to many people probably play it.. and to think I read a sign saying rates will go up on April 1st..The track is very nice. But overall rating I give a 2 out of 10… Golfers should play Clearcreek for the same price and way better shape…

Not worth the drive or money.
Do not trust any of the recent reviews. The greens are in horrible shape and full of weed sprouts. It was like putting and playing pinball at the same time. Tee boxes are hard as a rock and it was hard to even place a tee without breaking it first. All ball washers were rusted shut or had no water. It was a Saturday noon tee time and did not run into cart girl until 10th tee and by that time she had hardly anything. Just a poorly kept and run course.

The course is in recovery
The greens were spray painted green, and had some type of fungus/weed growing.the staff wasn’t to friendliest. The pace seemed great. Only saw the drink cart once at hole 10. So buy drinks before you start playing. Signage around the tunnels can be much better.

"Inadequate Maintenance Mars Golf Course Experience"
It's disappointing that a golf course of such potential suffers from inadequate maintenance. The greens are in poor condition, leading to balls bouncing unpredictably after putting. This lack of care significantly detracts from the playing experience.
