Tiburón Golf Club - The Black Course

About
Tiburón Golf Club in Naples boasts two championship courses, the Black and the Gold. Greg Norman created both courses, blending traditional and modern elements in the design. Both layouts play like classic links courses with a twist. The Black Course is Tiburón's original layout that is slightly more challenging than the Gold. It features a combination of stacked sod wall bunkers and coquina waste bunkers. Water hazards and tall pines come into play frequently as well. Be prepared to face a few tough carries. Tiburón's Black Course finishes with a tricky par 5. This dogleg-right hole features not only a massive lake that runs the entire length of the right side but also coquina waste areas and greenside bunkers. A birdie on this hole is quite an accomplishment.

Not worth the money
They close at 7pm but we were only informed while teeing up at 4.20pm (and of course after paying), hence we tried to play fast to finish up. But, we had a flight of 6 (!) people playing in front of us which made it impossible to play 18 holes. After 14 holes, we then had to stop which is really a pity to pay more than 100$ for that. We’ve been to other clubs where you pay 1/3 of the price, staff may more friendlier and do inform you in advance of the conditions.
The course in itself is nice, not too difficult but in good conditions.
Great Time.
Everyone should experience the Black Course at least once.
Nice Layout
We played on a beautiful May day. Perfect conditions, greens were fast but true. Never had a bad lie in the fairway. Only downside was pace of play was slow, especially on the back nine. Ranger should have stepped on the group in front of us. We waited on every shot.
Tiburon never disappoints!
Another fabulous day! Invited a friend to join, low handicap player and it blew his mind.
An excellent golf experience.
This course lived up to its reputation offering a challenging but fair round of golf. The course conditions and the VIP treatment and friendliness of the staff was particularly impressive.
Tiburon
What a great golf course, played the Black Course while the LPGA CME Globe were on the Gold Course.
Put it on your list!
Nice but design not up to hype
The facilities and setting are beautiful and to a high standard. Very good service. In general, the course is in great conditions, if not because the greens had recently been aerated and could have taken a week or two more to be in top shape. I was not informed, and I was charged the regular rate.
With all the hype the course has with the televised PGA, champions, and LPGA tournaments; and by having played PGA Tour’s Mayakakoba El Camaleon, and other Norman’s courses; design-wise, playing from the white tees (handicap 17) I found El Tiburón Black dull, unmemorable, and unchallenging; as so, overpriced, if not for the hype and grand facilities.
I had been told that there are other much interesting courses in the vicinity at better rates. So now I know and believe it’s likely.
A bit disappointed
Layout great. Greens seemed very inconsistent and 18th green was a mess and unplayable—
