A must!
Great course, very well kept, best greens we played this year so far. Great practise facilities. Not to be missed.
Great Finishing Hole
I've heard great things about this place and was not disappointed, the drive in gives it a real championship feel to the course. Club house is spectacular. The staff in the shop were sensationally unfriendly which is a shame. The course is in great condition, greens are receptive, the day I played the Pins where in pretty easy positions but that could change I'm sure. There a couple of great Par 5's and a couple of sneaky drivable Par 4's with a great risk and reward attraction. The 18th is among the best finishing holes i've come across, right up there with Druids and Celtic Manor (2010).
Well worth a visit
Course in decent condition for the time of year apart from a few areas where there was some standing water.
Staff in the Pro shop were very welcoming and obliging.
Good course, great value
Very nice course. In very good condition. The staff was not very friendly and there was limited food service available when we finished our round.
Would certainly play it again if in the area.
This course has some very nice holes.
The course was in very good condition for so early in the season.Staff very helpful and pleasant had a wonderful day. Many Thanks Pat.
wet and windy
This was my second time playing this course. I find this course enables you to open your sholders and let it rip. In other words its wide open and flat, there is no shelter from the wind on any hole so even a light wind will have an effect on your shots. The condition of the course was average, the fairways did not seem to have been cut for a couple of days so there was no run on the ball. The only memorable hole is the 18th, take an iron of the tee and navagateyour way around the water on this hole.
Great conditions...staff not so much..
Having played many courses in Ireland, I've found that a driving range isn't exactly a priority for many courses/players. I enjoy warming up on the range an hour or so prior to teeing off, so I showed up an hour prior to do just that. When I checked in, the gentleman informed me that the range was closed due to "no balls being available." The claim was that a large group had come through earlier that morning and hit ALL the balls that the driving range contained. I asked if there was noone to collect them, to which he simply replied "no." But then he had absolutely no issue telling me I could head upstairs and enjoy a cup of coffee. (Costing me almost 3 euro!) Great conditions, fun course. But absolutely no excuse for not having an open range for golfers when you area course of this stature!
Lovely course
Moyvalley is a lovely course to play.It was in excellent condition. The greens were terrific. It is a lovely walk and though difficult, is very fair to the higher handicap golfer.
Although very flat (great for my age) it is not boring and each hole has it's own charachter.
All 4 of us really enjoyed the round. A 9 out of 10 from us.
I will be returning.
relaxing
As a society golfers we played off yellow tees some holes were a tad short if we play again will play off white ... lovely course some great holes ...18 a gem and not just saying that cos I got a birdie ( don't get many ) ....only 2 thing was wrong with course and that was the bunkers were hard and unplayable ....... and the course was empty a 2 ball in front of us n not another person in sight what a shame maybe it was just bad timing I hope so
This course is excellent but the bunkers are very hard due to poor drainage,
This course is excellent but the bunkers are very hard due to poor drainage, it's the only thing that let's this course down. Great value for money
Wonderful wonderful
Course was in excellent condition, flag positions were tough found out later there was a competition on, 35 euro for this a bargain
.
Amazing course, I will be coming back here very soon.
This. Golf course has great features
I love this golf course because it plays like a links esp the f9 but is a parkland course. It's challenging but esp. when windy n raining as the course is very open. You need to read the course well and use course management from the first hole right through to the 18th ( the last hole which I might add is all about placing and knowing your club distance). The course is very well marked with many distance markers throughout too. The golfer will truly enjoy this course and will return many times to play it. I also love the golf / food deal when its on offer. Great value for money . I have recommended this golf course to family n friends who have played here many times now also and truly enjoy their round including the food /water hole the 19th! :-). Overall, I highly recommend this golf course to our home folders men n women and visitors worldwide who come to Ireland to play golf. The course hosts a very nice Club House with a Hotel just beside it. Scenery / surroundings are also very nice.
Dry Course in great nick for December,Great Value
Booked a 4 Ball with GolfNow @€10 per head.Great value, course dry and greens in good nick.Played off yellows ,no distance marker on tee box (minor gripe).Greens are narrow and tricky.Would like to play off whites on my next visit. Will definitely return!
Well Kept
Had heard different feedback about Moyvalley. Had played there before and thought it was very nice. Played on Saturday on the 7th of December and was pleasantly surprised to firstly get out for a round in early December but also to find that the course was in great condition.
Beautiful course, perfectly maintained inland links style & superb value.
Beautiful course, perfectly maintained inland links style & superb value. I cannot recommend this course highly enough at this price point. Do not miss out.
Challenging, well maintained, great value for money
Very well maintained and challenging course. Rough very punishing - straight driving a must. Great value for money - played it for just €14!
Great course
I played here recently. I had never heard of this course beforehand. I was very impressed with the challenging aspect of this course. The greens are very nice and I like the layout as a whole. It reminds me abit of the Monty course in Carton house. It is great value for money and on par with any championship course. I will be back to play very soon again. Some highlights are the tricky par trees and challenging par 5s
Poor Greens at Moyvalley
The greens had holes in them and i dont mean pitch marks. These should have been repaired by the green staff. I also think to make it more appealing to visitors, a map of each hole should be on each tee, not just on the card.. I dont think it was worth €23 a round
