Hill Country Golf Club - Creeks/Oaks
About
The Creeks Nine is one of three courses at the Hill Country Golf Club. Named after the creeks that meander through the layout, this course demands accuracy with water coming into play on several holes and numerous strategically placed bunkers. There are also wooded ravines and a variety of elevation changes to keep golfers on their toes. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. The courses are situated on over 200 acres of scenic Texas Hill Country, giving them each a beautiful landscape of rolling hills and lush meadows dotted with native oak trees and clear blue lakes. Hill Country Golf Club is also home to a driving range and putting green on addition to the three nines.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
An interesting course with potential for a good round.
The staff at this course were very friendly and accommodating. I played this course at the beginning of February and the condition of the course was mediocre. The greens were thin and sparse, making them difficult to putt. The sand traps were well-maintained and the fairways were easy to play on. The condition of the course may be due to seasonal factors, but there are some signs that it is time to put step it up and put in some extra effort and investment in the course. I did find a number of the holes interesting and the design added to the overall quality of play.
great course, played lakes-oaks
challenging course, when played from the back tees, staff attentive and courteous. only bad remark....could not get drinks food before round...grill closed????? we teed off at 11:50.
got drinks from a cart girl on first hole
Played the Oaks and the Lakes; both in great shape.
The Staff was helpful, accomodating and friendly. The course was in great shape and the pace of play was perfect.
Really good value for this time of year!
Overall I would rate this course an 8/10. We were very lucky to have really good weather for this time of year. We played the Oaks to Creek and the course has a little bit of everything. Very challenging with some elevation changes and pretty views. The greens are in very nice shape, but hard to putt if you have never played em before. Kudos to the staff for keeping this course in nice shape. If you have never played here before I would highly recomend.....we had a great time.
Slooooowww
Seems like it could have been fun if they didn't let groups of 5 go out and groups with tiny children that run around while their parents are shooting. Terrible pace if play not fun at all, and for someone who likes to drive the ball long this place isn't for you, lots of irons off the tee.
Great course
Even in the winter time this course out-shines 95 % of the courses in the Alamo City. Great condition, fast pace of play, and friendly staff. I will be coming back time and time agian....
Great Layout and Value for December in South Texas. Windy conditions made it extremely challenging and the Greens were extremely challenging.
Overall was a good to great course to play. Played the Links to Lakes route. Course was in good condition for late December but you can tell the lack of water over the last couple on months is taking it's toll. The greens were dry and extremely fast and TBO the pin placements were not fair on some holes with them being placed up to 7 yds from the front with some pretty questionable slopes. Might work for a tournament setup but for the average winter vacation player at a resort course I think the pins should be placed in more accessable locations. The greens looked like they need a little more care and water to grow up and soften up. Overall I love the layout of the Hyatt and have played it when the course was in Outstanding shape. One other note is that they no longer have the water cooler on the practice range. They use to also provide tees on the range. No more I guess??
great course, great shape, great value from golfnow.com
One of the best deals in town when booked through golfnow.com with hot deal tee time. Course was in great shape as always, super courteous staff, as always.
Staff was very friendly
Greens were true and challanging. The fairways were in great condition. Pace of play was just over four hours with only minor wait times on the tee box. Parking was the only issue. We had a 12:50 tee time and had to park near construction, the furthest from the clubhouse.
Brutally hard. Six signature holes.
Fantastic. Just keep it in the fairway. Leave the driver at home. Try not to 4 putt like me. I'm a 10 handicap, played well from the tips, shot a 99. Six signature holes on the Oaks to Lakes. Very inspiring and serene. Helped balance my bad score. Highly recommend.
Beautiful day on the golf course!
Course was in excellent condition. The Oaks course is extremely tight; bring lots of golf balls.
Beautiful Course
This golf course is in great condition and very fun to play.
Thumbs UP!
Great Course
Great shape and difficult to play. I only play when Golfnow has a good deal (which is often!), and it's completely worth it.
The few times I have played out there, not many others are on the course. Not sure I would pay regular price though with it being out as far on the west side of San Antonio (for me) as it is.
Playing music in cart on course
We have been to several golf course lately where the players are blaring their music. The last time we played at the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio this happened. This is very rude and inconsiderate for all the other players. The Hyatt is a beautiful course, well maintained and staff is wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Great layout with excellent course conditions.
Definitely requires a repeat visit. One of the better courses in the San Antonio area.
Not fun if you're an average golfer
To be fair I'll say fairways and greens are in great shape, but I don't understand why so many courses don't keep areas in the woods clean, where if your ball goes in there you can find it or maybe even play it, that would make these tough courses so much average golfer friendly and enjoyable, it would also speed up play.
If you're a low handicapper and always keep it in the fairway than you'll like this course.
