Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Oaks
About
Hill Country Golf Club offers three nines, all of which sprawl across 200 scenic acres of Texas Hill Country. The terrain is provided with rolling meadows and steep hillsides dotted with tranquil lakes and ponds that come into play throughout the 27 holes. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. From wooded ravines to tree-lined fairways, this nine is a demanding test of accuracy. There are strategically placed bunkers and water comes into play on a few holes. The courses, which were designed by well-known architectural firm Arthur Hill & Associates, have received praise from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Golfer Reviews
The BEST place to play when the fee is right.
Tee to Green = PERFECT. Great place to play when the fee is right.
Outstanding
I have never seen this course in such good shape I will say I did get deal off golf now .but I have to admit I played tpc stadium course in Scottsdale. and all 3 nines were a lot better at the Hyatt .sand was so fun to play out of I hit in it on purpose to play out of it .I like the layout.it takes skill to play it well .with the multiple set's of tee's long drivers will like it to.staff is Awsome carts are nice course is Awsome.go play.
Hi "bsemtbob1" Thank you so much for the excellent review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your round and our sand. Please come back and visit us again in the near future.
Great Conditions But...
This course is always in great shape. From tee boxes to greens, it is difficult to find a better manicured course in the area. However, it does have a few flaws. The biggest is the layout of the course. While there are 27 pristine holes, quite honestly, it feels like there was only enough acreage for mabye 20. Most of the holes play very short so you cannot hit driver on several par 4s and even some par 5s. Because of the lack of acreage, they've had to gimmick up the course. There are trees that block greens and even fairways, a very short par-5 that is in the shape of a horse-shoe (as well as a very short U-shaped par 4), etc. You can easily get around this course hitting irons off the tees, which is a real shame because as I said, the conditions are great. The practice facilities are excellent but they charge $20 if you want to use any part of it. That's right, $20 just to putt. The clubhouse staff is helpful but I wouldn't exactly say friendly. The guys who run the carts and the girls who drive the drink carts are always friendly. Based on all of that, then lastly, I think they're over-priced. You can find a course with similar conditions and a better layout for a much better price (see Canyon Springs and others). Hope this helps!
Hi "GabsDad" Thank you for your feedback as this is how we continue to improve our operation and experience for our guests. I am glad hear your positive comments on the conditioning of the course and the service of the staff. I am sorry you did not like the layout of the course. Unfortunately, this is out of our control and we strive to have the best manicured course and provide the best service possible, thus providing an overall positive golfing experience. We hope that you will give us another try in the near future. Thanks Mgt
Course has great features
Fairways were green and had good rolls in the afternoon and green were fast.
Hi "lv70883" Thank you so much for the great review! We are so glad that you enjoyed our fantastic greens on this particular day. Please come back and see us again soon. Thanks MGT
Not over exited
We were missing water hasards. Course was in a bid dry condition.
Staff extremly friendly and helpful.
All together a course I would recommend within San Antonio area.
Hi "Wolf01" We appreciate your feedback. During these summer month the course can be a little dry with the lack of rain. We appreciate your great comments regarding our staff and definitely will pass this along.
Don't miss the opportunity to play here
The course staff was very courteous and attentive to customer service and every person from the front counter, starter, and cart maintenance were accommodating and professional, my compliments to management. The course has three 9 hole tracks and all have their own challenges and some holes with risk reward shots that could make you or break you. I give the course and staff 5 star rating and hope my review doesn't over populate this beautiful gem in my backyard.
Hi "egonzaba" Thank you so much for the excellent review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your day with us. We will definitely pass along the kind remarks to our staff. Please come back and visit us again soon.
AWESOME PLACE
GREENS ARE AWESOME
LOTS OF FUN
GREAT Features!
As always, everything about Hyatt Golf Club was TOP notch! the bev cart made plenty of stops for our group, course conditions are excellent right now!
Hyatt Joke
After all the rain and poor weather the last few weeks the course was in good shape. Course played as Cartpath Only, made for very slow play. However, course officials allowed groups of 5 to 6 golfers at a time, because of these large groups we bypassed 3 holes on the Oaks course just to speed up play. 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes is not exceptable. Course Marshal didn't seem to care about the pace of play and said that is just how it is on the weekends. Wouldn't waste your time or money if you are planning on playing on the weekend.
Worst greens
The greens have not grown in yet and are also sanded. Save your money and go play another course.
One of the finest Resorts in Texas
I've never experienced a friendlier staff ot better service at a golf course. The course is a wonderful layout with beautiful scenery. I played the Oaks-Lakes course. I will be going back to experience the Creeks layout.
Outstanding Golf Course
I love playing this golf course; very worthy of the price.
great service
the staff treated us very well. they made our day very enjoyable. the course has a great layout. some nines tougher than the other. the practice area is good and the course in great condition. we would definitely play there again.
Tough course when the wind blows.
Wind was blowing, hard to keep the ball from rolling into the trees and rough. Like to play again on a calm day.
Great course and practice facilities
Love this course! Play it every time I visit San Antonio. Staff was awesome!! Course is in great condition. Greens are awesome!
Great round of Golf
This was my first time playing golf at Hyatt Hill Country. We had great weather and enjoyed this fine course. Staff and pace of play were terrific.
Great staff. Average conditions
Very friendly, helpful staff. Very nice clubhouse. Great layout. Greens in good shape. Fairways disappointingly hard pan.
You are welcome.
