About
The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
Directions: 20 Minutes from downtown. Take U.S. 90 west to Texas 211 (2 exits past loop 1604) and we on the right. From downtown take 90 west to Texas 211.

Gem on the West side
I found a Hot Deal on Golf Now for $18 Friday 1230. Which the rate and the time was a bargain for this course. I am looking forward to playing this course when the spring grass is green. I was able to play in 3.5 hours and there was high school golf tournament in the groups in front of me.

Fun Course!
I have fun every time at this course. It’s located minutes outside loop 1604, but the atmosphere gives the feeling of a luxurious destination.

Enjoyed Thoroughly
First time playing while visiting San Antonio. Course was pretty Brown but it's to be expected for February. Nice layout but pretty wide open. Found a great deal on Golf Now, highly recommended.
I Like This Course
This was our first time here. Lousy foggy, rainy weather but we had a great time. Fairways are wide enough to land a 747 but the greens are super tricky. One of those courses you need to play a few times to learn where to hit to.
Club pro.
Took y 17y/o grandson with me.forgot he was lefty.i had rt hand clubs.was a cold and wet day on and off rain.course was still very fun to play.pro helped me out and gave me a little dicount on rental clubs.i sure appreciated that.we had a awsome time .go play here.
Greens in bad shape
Fairway was pretty hard . It is winter and the grass is dirnant. Hiwever, the greens were also brown and hard.
Nice course
We visit San Antonio every year and like to play this course when in town. Some challenging holes and weather is pretty nice.
Great & close to home
Course was great considering the time of year . The greens true & fast like always. For the price you can’t beat it . If your live in this part of town it’s a must play .

we like playing at this course when we visit San Antonio, they also have great hamburgers at the restaurant after you play, we recommend it.

Fast smooth greens!
These are the smoothest greens in town. Start your putt on the right line and speed and they roll true and fast. Good fairways and fairly thick rough you want to avoid. If you hit into the native grass you have a lost ball. Enjoyed my round and look forward to playing here again soon.
Great course for the average golfer
This course has a wide open layout. There is a lot of roll in the fairways which would make any golfer happy with the extra distance. It’s a must play course
