About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Not worth the money
Front 9 conditions are poor. No protection on the first tee from the range, golf cart was hit.
Just poor conditions, not worth the money.

Long round
Played Fri afternoon starting at 2 and stopped after 9 as it was packed and close to 3 hrs. Enjoyed the front other than the pace.

Nope never again
Had a tee time for 3:44. Paired up with 3 players. One gentleman could not tee his own ball up due to age (that’s perfectly ok but it co tributes to the delay) and one lady hit 3 balls out of bounds and proceeded to walk back to her bag every time to dig for a ball. I made the decision to bow out since there were 7 carts on #1 waiting for us. It took 10 minutes for our group to tee off.
I inquired about a rain check and was informed that’s the chance I take when grouped with randoms. They gave me half back but there is ZERO chance our group or anyone behind us will get 18 yet the course took our money for 18. Also the driving range was closed so even less value to this place.
Poor customer service due to a lack of customer empathy….won’t be coming back here.

False advertising
Booked a round which included the cart. Guy in the pro shop said it’d be and extra $20 for a cart even after showing my reservation to him.

Slow play
Course is in good shape but pace of play is so so slow. Needs to speed up

Man how Course Management Times have changed.
About 10 years back my backyard was right on the Par 3 Number 7. My view of the course year round was awesome. After living in that home for 5 years I moved away. I came back to play the course yesterday 3/16/2022 with my son. After talking up the course to him and how awesome it is compared to the courses he plays in STX he was ready to see what I used to see. MAN WAS HE AND I DISAPPOINTED. There was literally nothing green between T-Box to the Green. The fairways have been cut so short it might as well be hard panned dirt. The greens had just been aeriated which was not bad at all. Why they are cutting the fairways to less than 1/8" is beyond me. It's sad, because when Troon was managing the course it was green tip to tip. I hate to ending a round where I say the course conditions beat me rather than I beat myself for shooting a poor round. Definitely will not waste $130 for 2 people to play. Not to mention after paying those rates I still had to pay for range balls. Star Ranch right down the way is in so much better shape.

Let’s Get Some Real Sand In The Buckers
The were saucer size diss rocks in the sand / dirt buckers for price we can do better here

Average Layout, Slow Play
Course layout is average at best. Greens were in decent shape but fairways were burnt out (I guess thats pretty much every course in central Texas during winter!).
Pace of play was atrocious to say the least. Took us 3 hours to finish the front nine!!!.
Course is moderately difficult for good players but can be really hard for high handicappers. Marshal did nothing but drive around. By the time we got to the 13th hole, people were just quitting.
This seems to be a pattern with the three courses owned and run by this company.

Solid course, nice staff. Pace of play for being so busy was ok too. Greens 8/10. Fairways hardpan but it’s that time of year. Will always play here.

Good course, HORRIBLE PACE
You will NEVER play a round in under 5 hours on a weekend after 8 AM. Course marshals are friendly... too friendly. They seem to avoid the hard conversations about making people play quickly. The sand traps are awful and inconsistent. Either a thin layer of sand over a hard bed of mud or way to fluffy. Tee boxes are never level and in torn up. Some are impossible to find a flat lie.

Not the same course it used to be.
I used to play Terra Vista almost weekly. Then when covid hit I did not play there a while. Sad to say the course has really gone down hill. The fairways were in really bad shape. Hardly any grass and a lot of bare spots.. Tee boxes also were in bad shape. Don't forget to take a wet towel with you on the course. There are no ball washers on any of the holes. Also there is no small bucket of range balls available. All the sizes offered are way to huge. And the range balls are very expensive. The only friendly staff member was the woman at the bar. I used to enjoy playing there because the conditions and the course layout were really great. I won't be back anytime soon.
Challenging layout
Love playing this course. In the last year or so we have new equipment and have been doing much better at keep a rough cut. You must play almost every club in your bag on this course. Our area has windy conditions on most days and depending on the direction holes can become much harder or easier. Greens always putt well. I wish players here would rack traps, sand divots and repair ball marks on the greens. It would greatly help our course condition and in the long run make it better to play.
