About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Not the same course it used to be.
I used to play Terra Vista almost weekly. Then when covid hit I did not play there a while. Sad to say the course has really gone down hill. The fairways were in really bad shape. Hardly any grass and a lot of bare spots.. Tee boxes also were in bad shape. Don't forget to take a wet towel with you on the course. There are no ball washers on any of the holes. Also there is no small bucket of range balls available. All the sizes offered are way to huge. And the range balls are very expensive. The only friendly staff member was the woman at the bar. I used to enjoy playing there because the conditions and the course layout were really great. I won't be back anytime soon.
Challenging layout
Love playing this course. In the last year or so we have new equipment and have been doing much better at keep a rough cut. You must play almost every club in your bag on this course. Our area has windy conditions on most days and depending on the direction holes can become much harder or easier. Greens always putt well. I wish players here would rack traps, sand divots and repair ball marks on the greens. It would greatly help our course condition and in the long run make it better to play. Kudos to the grounds crew, pros, and management
Need to drain the swamp
Got a hot deal this Thursday for 36 bucks and was excited to play on the cheep for once. Now it was 30 degrees out this morning and I wouldn't be surprised at the course being closed or a 1 hour frost delay (I am from wa state and frost delays can be common in winter) i checked the website and my email for an update and nothing.... got to the course and as I am unloading guys comes out of the pro shop and yells "Course is closed!!" I replied with a dejected "ahh man really?" And was answered with yet another "COURSE IS CLOSED!!" he promptly walked away annoyed at the audacity that someone would tred foot upon the premises. If you read other comments im sure you will see other gripes about the staff and yes I would say there is at least a 50/50 chance you will encounter one of these creatures. I have also played here and have gotten carpet bombed on 1 after apparently the Marshall gave the ok for the group behind me to tee off.... as myself and another guy are litteraly standing in the middle of the fairway taking our second shot... the unparalleled rudeness is astonishing.

Don’t play here
Staff does not care about customer. Read some recent reviews and call the number. It is not a customer service number. They do not employee anyone for that. The best they will do is give you a general manager email. No phone number. Will not be returning. Lots of better places in Austin.

Course in good condition, staff pro shop rude and has country club attitude on public course
First time playing here. Booked a hot deal tee time. That was my first mistake. I left an hour early for round which should have got me there 20 to 30 min ahead of tee time. Traffic sucked and when I was about a mile away and 12 min from my tee time I called course as a courtesy. They informed me if I wasn’t there at my exact tee time I’d have to catch up. Fair enough. I arrived at pro shop, shoes on bag in hand with a minute to spare at 12:23 according to my iPhone. My 12:24 tee time buddy was told to go at 12:16.... When I was being taken to catch up I saw that no one was waiting to tee off or playing the hole. I asked to be allowed to tee off and catch up. Told I was late and to check my watch. I showed the employee that my watch read 12:25 and he insisted that I was completely in the wrong. When I passive aggressively agreed to skip the first hole I was informed that I wasn’t a member there and that I had booked a cheap tee time with hot deals. I got the feeling that because I didn’t pay enough I didn’t count as a golfer they wanted. If you list on golf now you have to expect people to book it right? I’ll admit, I was not at the tee box at exactly 12:24. But I was in the pro shop speaking with staff at 12:23. No one was on the first tee at that time. I called and spoke with the golf pro on staff Saturday at 6:05 pm. He was insistent that 12:23 is too late and that his starter staff member should not have instructed other players to tee off at 12:16.
Again, it’s not much. But I feel like the customer service would have been better had I paid more money or been a member.

Winter golf
Nice course, good people, good pace 4hr round. It would be great to have some grass in the fairways, although hitting 200 yard 6 irons does feel good.

Horrible customer service
They charged us a no show fee for someone in our group testing positive for Covid the night before..... let that one slide.
Called to check on the weather another time and after someone telling me we can cancel without penalty, when I call back to cancel later, they tell me that the answering service told me that and they don't have the authority :)
I supply the call times and date to the manager who checks and tells me the calls never happened.
Guess the course is so packed now that they can just not give a $&%*
Plenty of other great golf courses in town.
"Terravista Golf Club" responded asking me to reach out to leadership in the pro shop but the regional manager is the whole cause for this.
Who exactly do you recommend I speak with assuming you do honestly want to find a resolution here?

Again playing Teravista takes on average 5 hours to play a round. The marshals just seem to ride around in carts and not speed up play. It is very frustrating to play such a nice golf course.

Not in good shape, slow play as always
Course in bad shape, tight fairways with no grass and tee boxes were like hitting out of a bunker. Only good thing about the course was the greens. Pace sucked and marshals did nothing about it. Also having tee times 8 minutes apart is stupid, this needs to change to help pace.

Some days are better than others
Terra Vista is one of my favorite courses but today was not a day to remember nor enjoy.
I checked into the pro shop and was given a key to our cart. Upon getting to the starter, I was told I hadn’t checked in. I kindly ask the starter if I hadn’t checked in, how did I have a key to the cart. He was respectful and let us tee off. After several holes, an assistant came out and asked why I hadn’t checked in. I stated that I had and proceeded to show him the GolfNow receipt. He ask if I would stop by the club at the turn which I did. Upon going into the pro shop he said it was all a mistake and apologized profusely.
As we continued on, the course assistants were doing nothing to keep the pace of play on time. Lot of riding around but not asking players to speed up or letting faster groups through. We finally gave up due to all of the above and left without completing our round.
I would hope this was just a bad day and doesn’t occur often. I would still recommend the course.

Great course
Super fun to play, love the layout. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will play again. Maybe when it’s a bit warmer! Lol

Good Shape
Not a walking friendly course. It's too spread out between holes. The course was in great condition, but was very slow.

Lost a customer
Play here fairly often and pace is always slow. What really irked me today was the fact that they have implemented a policy where you must now pay $20 on top of your booking rate if you plan to ride your own cart instead of riding with a stranger…. Even if you book by yourself… and even though it states “cart included”

Great value for the price and conditions.
Anytime you can play golf in January is plus. It was a chilly morning but the conditions of the greens were really great for the $65 price tag.

Pace of play
Tee time spacing (6 minutes), in the past has resulted in slow play. Today was exceptionally better not sure why.
