About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Very Poor Policies
Day of Play weather turns cold, windy and wet. Weather 41 degrees, windy 10 mph, misty with a 55% chance of rain. We cancelled T time was informed that we would be charged anyway. Don't play this course there many other courses that are better.

Great Course, Poor Pace of Play
The last three times I have played TeraVista it has taken 4:30, 4:30, and 5:00 hours. Yes, it was Super Bowl Sunday, but long wait times between holes has become the norm at TV.
Course was in very good shape for early February and everything but the pace of paly was great.

Greens were great, however fairways were in horrible condition. For the amount paid you expect good fairways. Was like hitting off of concrete. Made second and approach shots tough.

They need to not put as many tee times for people so it moves faster.

Poor Customer Service. Course just OK.
The course is fine, but I do have an issue with the customer service. I booked a tee time for 3 golfers this past Sunday and 1 of the guys could not make it last minute so just two of us played. 3 days later I get an email from Golf Now saying that Tera Vista is charging me for my friend that had to cancel last minute. I didn’t even book through Golf Now!
I called the course to give them a chance to make it right and they told me there was nothing they could do. A golf reservation is like a hotel reservation they said and you must cancel within 24 hours or tough luck. I could understand if none of us showed up or didn’t even call but one guy couldn't make it last minute and this is what they do? I even made the reservation through the course website and they still hide behind Golf Now to issue the charge. Nice!
It was a very foggy and drizzly day so the course was not that busy. It's not like they had people on a wait list trying to get on the course. I think we saw one other group on the course the entire time.
I've been playing golf for 30 years now and I have never been charged by a course for someone in my group that could not make it the morning of. Family emergency you say? Too bad, should have been able to predict that 24 hours in advance.
There are too many really good courses in the Austin area with great customer service that you can play without worrying about Teravista.
I have a tee time at Grey Rock next week and they didn't even require a credit card. Go there instead.

I didn't use Golf Now to make the tee time. I booked the tee time on the Teravista website, which was not a hot deal. One person in our party was not able to make it and I was still charged for that person. That was a first for me from a golf course!

Good course
Not too fond of the no cash policy. Cost two of their employees tips and drink sales.

sunny day in round rock
Greens were in excellent condition for it be the middle of winter. All Tee boxes were easy as pie to put a tie in. all the fairways where basically brown but not patches of dirty anywhere. The great thing is they cut way back on all the edges of the fairways so you can better find your off center hits that faded or drawed into the rough now. Overall course is in excellent condition, but all the fairways are brown.

Pinching Pennies on Driving Range Balls
Really a fan of Terravista but sad to see when price comparable to Forest Creek and Star Ranch that rates are similar but have to pay for range balls at Terravista. When having to choose between those 3 a lot of times I choose the other ones just because of range balls even though I like Terravista the best. You guys really need to think how much business you are losing on something that should be part of base rate .
From an optics perspective makes you guys look like cheap skates
