Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

A nice, but challenging track
New to Austin, I have been checking out various courses and picked this one because it was the only one I found that had not yet punched and sanded. It is a great layout and, except for a couple of issues not related to the course conditions, it was a great experience.
The Good: This is a nice track. Course knowledge definitely helps and the greens were FAST. The staff was friendly and there is a cart-girl. Overall the condition was very good.
The Challenges: Course knowledge is a must. There are a LOT of places you can get yourself into trouble; water that crosses the fairways, trees that will eat your ball, and areas where you saw the ball bounce, but then can't find it in the rough. Definitely a thinkers/use all the clubs in the bag type course.
The ugly and laughs: The pace of play was a total buzzkill. Starting out on 10, we were immediately concerned ; a foursome of women two groups in front of us took 57 minutes to play two holes and had four groups stacked up behind them on 12 tee. Once a marshal appeared, the pace picked up, but it still took over 5 hours to play the round. Also, we laughed at the multiple signs on the course that claimed golfers were responsible for property damage to the houses. News flash for those who don't know, Unless the homeowner can prove you intentionally hit the ball at their house, you can't be held liable for trespass damages. Your intention was to hit the ball onto the fairway or green, right? See Malouf v. Dallas Athletic Country Club, 837 S.W.2d 674 (Tex. App-Dallas 1992, no pet.)
Fun at Teravista
A friend and I got the chance to play Teravista last weekend. It was a fun course with an interesting layout. (Watch out for the houses and cars).
Outstanding
Had a great time. Thanks for the hospitality. Look forward to playing again on your beautiful course.

We appreciate the 5 Stars!
Looking forward to having you out at Teravista again!
Always a great track to play
Title says it all. Been playing this course for years and it's always a pleasure every time I'm out.
Thank you for being a loyal golfer at Teravista! We appreciate your business over the years!
Perfect Greens!
I've really been looking forward to playing some nice, fast greens, after some super slow greens played recently at several ATX Munis. They were perfect at Teravista, & we had a great round, played in just under 4hr on Sun PM. A very well run course top to bottom. Only complaint was several beat up & unlevel Tee boxes... needing some attention. Definitely will play again.
Thank you for the great compliment on our perfect greens! We appreciate your feedback on the tee boxes and will definitely look into it!
One of the best
This course was amazing in all aspects! Great value and well worth the money! Don't pass up the opportunity to play it if you have the chance
Hi Joe,
Thank you so much for the 5 Stars! Hope to have you back soon.
Teravista
Course was in great shape and greens rolled very consistent. Sand Traps were not in great shape. No consistency from one to the other. I know "don't hit the ball in them" lol. Love playing this course.
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience at Teravista! We will definitely take a look at the sand traps.
Great shape
Kudos to the grounds crew this is the best shape I've seen this course in the last two years. Keep it up!
Greens were smooth and rolled true. Fairways were great too!
Thank you Kevin! Our crew works hard to keep the course in top shape, so we appreciate the compliment!
Nice layout not to difficult great for any level of golfer
I haven't played this course in some time but I have to say the marshalls are very friendly and accommodating. One even offerd some tips to my grandson who came to play golf with me on his birthday. Course was in good shape even in this high temperatures. Will be back sooner than later to play again.
Thanks for coming out to Teravista with your Grandson! Glad you both had a good time! Hope to see the two of you again soon!
Stacked tee times
Nice course, but they stack tee times too close to eachother. Expect a terrible pace of play on weekends; 4 hours and 45 minutes to 5 hour and 15 minute rounds. Ridiculous. Course is generally in nice shape, but it's not worth the crazy waits between each shot.
Very pleasant layout!
This was a fun course. It is constantly a little breezy which is nice, sometimes! Fun play!
Great place to enjoy golf.
This course always makes me happy and feel good.
Nice course and view.
Great Course. Slow Play
I've played this course about four times over the last year. It's always a fun course in great shape. The fairways are fantastic and so are the greens. The staff is friendly and even gave me a free coupon for a free round of golf during this last visit.
The only improvement I have is the slow pace of play. There was twosome sitting at the first tee as soon as we got in the first fairway as we were at the teebox waiting for the group in front of us. Tee times appear to be too close together contributing to slow pace of play. Add in the different skill levels and it really gets slower when there's a crowd watching from behind. That's my assumption as I saw three groups on one hole at one point.
I would still recommend this course to my friends with the caveat of getting out early to beat the crowd and the heat so one can get on and off the course in a timely manner.
TeraVista
The course is challenging, staff friendly, and off-course amenities are nice.
The pace of play is slow.
One problem - I prepaid on GolfNow but the course had no record of it.
They went ahead and checked me in using the e-mail on my phone from GolfNow...but why didn't GolfNow send that to the course...?
Slow play
Took us 2:45 hrs to play front nine. 5 1/2 for a round of golf is too long. Concentration is lost, constantly having to loosen up. We contacted a marshal, and he didn't seem to care. Several of the greens had very bad patches, heavy sand.
Would not recommend friends to play there due to extremely slow play. Very nice lay out and fairways. Too bad staff is not concerned over slow play. Too many reviews complaining about slow play. Had I read reviews, I would not have played there. Money not well spent. I am new to the area thus looking for a home course. Tera Vista will not be it.
Sad that the ownership, who only needs to read review after review to see they have a major problem with pace of play. They do not, however care. I was a long time member and quit after this poor golf experience over and over again. Talked directly to the owner numerours times, was told I was a liar. Their other course,Avery is the same. Fortunately, I can spend my money elsewhere. I won' recommend or bring the tourney I help plan at either cours3 because of their complete lack of concern of the golfers experience. Trust me, it is spreading like wildfire all over the golf community.
We would like to apologize for the slow pace of play you experienced while out at Teravista. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, especially after you contacted a marshal and nothing was done. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this up to you.
Okay round of golf
Pace of play felt very rushed. Course was in decent shape with only one or two bad areas. Didn't like that the 18th green and fairway were near the driving range. My playing partner and I finally gave up searching for our drives on 18 because there were too many other range balls in the area. Lots of sand on the course. Not sure I will play there again but it was okay playing it once.
We are sorry to hear that you felt rushed during your round. We understand your frustration. We hope in the future you will give us another chance!
Rained out again
We would like to finish playing the entire course, however, each of the past three times we have been there it had always rained. This last time started great: clear skies; partnered with a fun couple but when we made the turn - here comes the rain. And I'm not talking about sprinkles- it rained. Luckily the great staff at GolfNow gave us credit towards a future round.
Hi,
We are sorry to hear that the rain ruined your round. We hope you will come back to see us again and we will keep our fingers crossed for no rain!
greens not nearly as good as in the past, excellent fairways. If you are a crooked driver this is not the place.
Teravista golf outing
Challenging course. Lots of sand and tight fairways. Water in play on most holes.
Thank you both for coming out to play at Teravista! We are glad to see you both had a good time. Hope to have you back out on the course soon!!
