About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Group playing slow
3 some & 1 girlfriend who had obvious didn't pay no clubs ....after 2-3 holes they decided to let her play no experience golf lesson on the fly. Very slow pace. Should have wave thru 4some behind them then wave our 2some thru too! I asked starter at turn please do something we waiting on every shot. He said we still on pace good time but I said this is bad we need better flow. On a par 5 hole# 10 had 4 groups waiting for the lady to practice putting. I called Pro shop and complained. Should have kicked the guy and lady off course ... failure to pay and not a place to be giving first lessons....try late twilight tee time if you wanna do that & have some manners wave thru other groups
Nice layout; tight lies
We really enjoyed the course, and appreciated the free tickets for a beer or soft drink during or after the round. The only drawback was that the fairways were extremely tight. Would enjoy more if the grass was cut about 1/4 inch higher. The super tight lies reminded us of Blackhawk which we no longer play for this reason.

( same story) zero concern for the quality of your golf round.
Slow Play
We left after nine holes that took 3 hours. On the 3rd hole, a par 3, there were 5 groups. They send groups out every 7-8 minutes which just packs the course. I was prepared for a slow round, as it was Sunday afternoon, but this was ridiculous.

Professional presentation
Excellent course. Staff was very professional. Starter process is well planned. Greens putt true, tee boxes were clean and well maintained. Fairways were properly groomed. Two negatives, pace of play and beverage cart wasn't adequately stocked when they stopped to service our group. I'll definitely play again.

Double booked
Course was double booked with tournament. Took 5 hours to play. tournament players skipping holes. Marshall took my cart from me for tournament. Very poor staff management. I have played this course over 100 times and would never join this club based on management.

Never on a Sunday
We quit after 12 holes... waaay to slow.. I'm guessing they over booked... Other guys got drink tickets,, we got none,,,, long wait at tee box....
Main reason I quit my membership after 4 years. Got so any time weekday or weekend you d get extremely slow play. IEvery weekend I d bring guests. They finally stopped coming out after many ruined rounds. Owner when I complained several time basically called me a liar. I also just helped vote a 52 person tourney away from them and will continue to not recommend Tera for any play among my company golf community.
Nice Layout
My coworker and myself had an enjoyable experience at Teravista. The pace was miserably slow but we made the best of it. Green fee included 2 beers which was a nice touch. Greens were just o.k. A little more warm weather and I think it would be perfect.

This course needs help
The greens on the front nine were in bad shape either some kind of fungus or too much fertilizer, some of the greens even
stunk like pestiside.
The pace of play was good on the front but ran into 2 groups on the back nine that were very slow.
Precisely why I gave up my membership after 4 years. Gave 30 day notice 3/1 never played once the entire month...terrible conditions on the greens and pace of play. Sad to see it going in the wrong direction.
Good time for all
Great time. Brought a friend and it was his 1st time to play. We'll be back.

Embarrassing experience once again for my guests
As has been written over and over in these posts this place is a joke. I have been a member some 5 years and it has gotten so bad I have quit my membership. We had a 7:15 tee time,our usual or you get stuck with horrid slow play. At checking the counter guy is so slow the line of ppl waiting to play was all the way back thru the pro shop. As I stood with my 2 guests the low life's in front of us dressed in sneakers,hats backwards and gym shorts paid ~$22.00 less than my "member guest fees!" They both were ticked. I told em I don't buy their lunch. Off we went only to find at 715 they as usual had crammed in another couple tee times so #1 was lined up. The 4s9me in front of us, 2 young couples were giving the girls lessons!! No Marshall till I don't know when. A 2 hour 51 minute front 9. My guests left at the turn telling me "don t invite us here again." The conditions were worth about a $25.00 green fee.
That is it for me, can t spend another dime at either Avery or Tera, it has gone to the bottom. Terrible golf experience.
Forgot to bring my gps and it was very frustrating with no sight of 100 yard marker and very few yardage marks and the pace, so slow.. one hole, there were 6 groups were wating to tee off, ridiculous!
Big John is right. I have been a member here for some 5 years and watched it go down hill especially with this new group. Course used to be in great shape.. today I went out to play and the greens and fairways are going south fast.Every weekend they are so overbooked they do run out of carts...what course does that. The 2 ranges are nothing but Sandy loam,terrible!
I sent in my letter of resignation last week as it is such a horrid golf experience I can' t justify spending anot her dime there. Owners could care less. Just a joke.
This is great!! You cannot hide the truth about this course with simple apologies TERAVISTA is a joke! This course is so overbooked that people miss tee times because there is no carts left!!! This is the case at Avery Ranch too!!

5 1/2 hour round
Extremely slow pace of play. Too many tee times. Course is challenging and in okay condition but waiting to get a riding cart until after our scheduled tee time and the horrible pace of play will keep me from returning.
We would like to stand by our course conditions. The course is in great shape, and you can not find anything better in the area. We are willing to give you your money back if you do not find the conditions to be in top shape.
Couldn'the agree more drove me away as a member of ~5 years. It has gotten such a horrid reputation, I can t hardly get guests to come out.The course conditions have dropped as well. I have taken grief from guests I have invited out so many times due to pace of play,member guest fee ($58.00 w/tax) and mediocre at best conditions.

A good variety of holes
Nice course, pro shop nice but pricy. Have played here before when we have come down for the winter and have always enjoyed it.

Nice course
INce course, and was ingood condition for a Jan. Round. Play was extremely slow this day.. nearly 5 hour round.

Terravista
No attention to pace of play. 3 groups backed up by a very slow foursome. Some players hitting into others
We apologize for the slow pace of play out of the course a few weeks ago. We can ensure you the owner does not do this on purpose, like the comment on this review states. We always want all our golfers to have an enjoyable round when visiting Tervista.
The OWENer does this by design! The only course in the States with 7 minute tee time intervals!!! No regard for members or customers this i why they have lost so many members over the past few months!!! This place is garbage.....
