Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

First Time Pleasure
My first time on Teravista after a friend recommended it to me. I went alone and was paired up with 2 college kids. The course was in excellent shape. I think the course ratings are a bit exaggerated though. We played whites and it is rated 6250/70.8/131. I shot 77 which was the best round I have shot in 10 years. I found it a very easy course, very little trouble and fun to play. I am going back again, this time taking friends. Hank (70 yr old)
Great day!
Greens are green!! Great day just needed the cart the cart girl to come around more.
Very Nice Trip Through The Backyards
Fun round over well-conditioned course . Impossible to walk as it moves through 'hood with very long green to tee gaps . Some very nice and interesting (read difficult) holes and good variety . Very windy almost every day so pick a reasonable tee.
Worth the visit
I had golfed this course only once a few years ago and couldn't remember it that well. The reason for that I now know is because it really isn't anything unique. It is a well maintained course with fairly wide fairways where a fairly decent golfer should score reasonably well. It does have good grass and greens but the bunkers vary in condition from almost concrete to good sand. I'd say the bunkers were the worst part but I would golf this course again someday.
Nicely manicured
Great deal for the money. Fairways and greens were mowed nicely and course was challenging enough. Very close to town so i would play again if in the area
Teravista
Great for starters... Friendly staff and a good course overall but nothing special to it.
Great Course
Course was in great shape. Fairways were lush with nice height to the rough. Greens rolled true and quick. The only negative point is that the bunkers were dry. They did not have a lot of sand in them which made it tough to get out. Luckily I only hit one. We booked on golf now for $50 at noon on Sunday. Great rate for that course. To me it is worth paying he extra $20 to play there over a muni. Shot an 80! 3 over on the back.
4.5 is not bad
Played as twosome a 8 AM as people we were paired with were not around when starter let us tee off.
Finished in 3.5 hours, just a few minor delays with three some in front of us. I had figured we'd be waiting even longer.
Greens and Fairways in great shape. Some wet areas in front of a few greens but nothing too bad.
Some bunkers were pretty rough, but I was able to play the two I got into.
They were short a few cart workers so some people doing a lot of running but very friendly overall.
Had a nice time
We had a threesome and got paired up with a single, which was fine. The pace of play was good. We had a big skins behind us which was right on us the entire time as the players were much better our group. Overall a quality course at a reasonable price.
Good Day on the Links
This was a pleasant experience overall. A little slow about 4.5 hours, but was paired with a couple of guys that were familiar with the course which was very helpful. I will put this high on my list of course to repeat.
Slow ride take it easy
Friday late afternoon slow play requiring us to take it easy Fairways were excellent, tee boxes excellent, but traps were crusty and gritty and some with water puddles, and greens gave an explosion of sand and would not hold on approach shots real well but was an enjoyable day of golf. Good weather and a challenging course layout.
Good course, good price
Currently the course is in great shape with the exception of the traps but they are working on them.
Teravista is worth your time
So, I moved to Texas about four years ago and the turf, golf, wind, everything golf is so different here from Ohio. The ground is so hard, greens are like concrete... at some courses... Teravista is one of the best groomed, waters and cared for courses. The greens are beautiful, albeit quite a bit inconsistent regarding speed from 1 to 18, I would like to see the greens rolled possibly throughout the day. The fairways are in great shape, the rough can be costly. This course requires some shot shaping to really be in position to score, you are going to have to both fade and draw the ball to really be in the ideal positions.
The traps could use some fresh sand as the recent rains have really washed away the sand trap quality. I just about broke my wrist in one of the traps it was like concrete... I would not let that dictate not playing at this course... just stay out of the traps and every other lie will be fair and as expected when you look at them.
The staff at Teravista is really nice and takes care to make sure you get checked in and off the tee on time if not early. The starter is a really nice gentlemen that will do everything he can to not only get you moving right he will also adjust pairings if he see's folks that just don't match up. He always has a smile and it is pleasant to pull up to the first tee which is rare sometimes.
I would recommend that you do not think about walking this course, it has some distance between the holes on the other side of the development. In addition to that they have just purchased new golf carts that run great, however they no longer have GPS. I emailed the GM to ask about yardage books and they are currently working on them as both a resource and souvenir
Fun course to play
Nice course to play with a nice layout. Greens were fast but fair. Fairways were fast and ball ran forever. Bunkers were mostly dirt and badly in need to be sand filled. Had a nice time joining up with a fellow single.
Rude golf pro
The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The bunkers showed damage from the recent rains. The head golf pro was rude to me for getting mud on the tires of the golf cart. I saw him duff his tee shot as he played through and I birdied the hole. That's golf karma baby.
on a fast doenward spiral
New mgmt in fully entrenched since jan'15 and course is showing signs of going downhill fast. Had late tee time, 12ish. Loaded up,got sandwich n drink went to hit balls. I have never seen a worse driving range. Grass was at least 2" high, under shaggy grass was a thick sand base. You d hit a shot and it was like a powder puff, ball went nowhere,3" sand divot...horrible. While we were trying to warm up the cart kids took our cart in spite of there being drinks and food in it!(we had taken our bags to the range)
Unreal! When we asked the kid "what did you do with our food" he said " oh, I just threw it out."
We had to go to the tee and almost 2 1\2 hours later we made it to #9 tee box!! Straight to the car...trunk slammer. Traps still have no sand but hard dirt. Place will look like a muny in a year.
You sure do play here quite often, so it must not be that bad.
Everything's nice but the bunkers
The fairways and greens were in nice shape, but wooooooooo nelly, the bunkers were rocked up more than Chris, as in Chris Rock.
I had a couple of buddies play out of the bunkers and damage clubs due to the conditions.
That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend this course.......the bunkers. Not everyone is as fortunate as I was to not have to hit out of them.
outstanding condition
I would say this course is very challenging and rewarding you might mistaken the course for a PGA course. Excellent greens that roll true and fast wow. I'll definitely come back and play and tell everyone about trying it out.
Course is vanilla
No memorable holes. Course was moderately flooded due to recent rains
Teravista was fun
Course in great shape..........greens a little slow........the recent rains have really done a lot for golf courses in the Austin area.
When are you going to challenge him to game?????
Dude I got $1000 or my own money on the golf pro! I have seen him play and he would drum you. I personally watched him shoot 68 at a course tougher than Teravista.
