Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

course is nicely designed
Sand traps are horrible
No sand and hard pan
Tee boxes or very sloped not level
Course would be nice if taken care of
Beverage cart is hardly ever seen accepted at the pro shop
better than most
One of the better conditioned courses around. Great practice facility - range, chipping area and huge putting green. A few holes are quirky, but certainly interesting. You can plunk a few houses playing this course. Late afternoon rounds are difficult to finish as the last four holes play into the setting sun.
Great course conditions but over crowded
The course was in great condition but I've never had a slower round of golf. I played in a group of 3 and we played 12 holes in 3.5 hrs. We had to wait on average 10 minutes to tee off on each hole. Some holes had 3 groups waiting to tee off. We were so frustrated by the 12th hole that we decided to stop. We played on a Saturday afternoon so we expected it to be a little slow but these speeds were enough to not want me to come back...at least on a weekend.
Super Course
It had been many years since I played this course (before houses totally lined the course), and it has changed significantly. It was moderately difficult back then; it's very challenging now if you aren't familiar with it (e.g., some holes have hidden hazards). Overall, a great course at a great price when you can get a hot deal on Golf Now.
Played 18 holes Teravista
Pace of play was slow...Groups sent out to close together. They need Marshall's on the course (front and back) to facilitate pace of play. Secondly cart died and attempted to use the send message feature and no one responded after 5 attempts, eventually had to make a phone call to get cart replaced. Sand traps did not have sand but hard compact dirt. Lastly, the GPS in relation to the pin location was not accurate. In most cases you could not trust the cart GPS.
slow slow
The pace of play could not of been slower. No one on course to help it move. Couple in front of us just quite as they were so frustrated with the course. If this was not my last day of vacation I would of walked of as well. Never going back.
look forward to playing this course again
Overall a very good experience playing this course. Course conditions were excellent. Pace of play could have been better but marshals did their best to keep things moving. Will definitely play this course again especially with deals from golf now.
Bunkers Need Work
The course is overall in good shape. Greens excellent. Some of the bunkers have bare spots or very thin sand. They should be raked.
Bunkers should be a hazard but not with yesterday's footprints.
pace of play ruined the round
Although the course was in decent shape . The slow play was horrible. Never saw a marshall on the course. If you don't mind a 6 hour round of golf and w as biting 10 minutes for each shot then you would do fine on this course.
Teravista
Course in good condition, bunkers need work but not plentiful so didn't come into play too often, pace of play around 4:30 mins, which is expected for a Saturday. Staff was great, overall a good experience.
Awesome course
Excellent course and challenging. Great value for the price. Will definitely return. Course in awesome shape considering all the recent rain. Only drawback was sand in all bunkers should be the same. Loved the bunkers that had the white fluffy sand.
The course has really deterioated
I have played this course many times in the 15 years I have lived in the area. I can not believe they have have let the shape of the course go like this. The sand traps were utterly unplayable. The tee boxes were uneven and unmaintained. The greens were bumpy. I guess I don't understand why they would like this happen to this course. The rate was good and included a couple of drinks but they need to get everything fixed before I would ever play again.
Great course. slow pace of play!
We golfed as a twosome on a Thursday afternoon. I am a 16 handicap golfer. The course was in overall good shape considering the amount of rain lately. Layout is challenging with its numerous bunkers and water in play at over 70% of holes. The GPS installed in carts is the best system Ive seen you can keep score and send email copy of score card to every member of group! Greens medium speed, smooth & receptive. The one big downer was the incredibly slow pace of play. We had 2 foursomes in front of us and the group 2 ahead of us was extremely slow. Despite 2 marshals seeing what was going on instead of telling the group to let others play through they did nothing! So from hole 3 to 18 we had way to long of waits. I cant imagine how it would be on a busy Saturday! Other than that everything else was great! I gave the course an overall rating of 4 stars only bc the course, food and all staff minus the marshals was top notch!
Not a great value
Fairway ground is harder than most munis (dead pan!). Traps were in horrible condition though repairs are underway. Overpriced until major improvements are made. Nice people.
Great Outing
Tee boxes and sand traps a tad rough, but new management is bringing course around. Pace of play was almost perfect and for the cost this was a great deal.
what was could be again
Nice course, but the cost vs area courses & what they offer it's more of an online special price course. They used to have free range balls with a tee time but now that even cost money. Main advantage is location.
Disappointing golf outing!
Teravista course can be a fun track when in top condition. When the wind is up there is no hiding from it and course plays more difficult. Wide open course. The greens are usually in very good condition and roll true. Sand traps and fairway bunkers are quite a different story. For years now the traps/bunkers have been seriously neglected. There is little sand left in them--just mostly hard-pack. Grounds crew does not rake them routinely, if ever, and the fiberous liners are showing through what little sand is left. A puzzle for sure as to why the grounds crew and management will not tend to their sand. Until this is taken care of, I am reluctant to recommend this course, as a major course feature is a negative and no longer a plus. Not sure what company (Eagle Golf??) owns this course, but some big-time work on the traps/bunkers needs to be done and someone needs to get to it!
Good track
Teravista is a well designed course and compensates for a range of handicaps with multiple tee boxes. We played the blue tee's and found them to be fairly honest. The par 5's were 500+ yds and made it challenging to get home in 2 strokes and the design makes you think about laying up instead of attacking. Par 3's were also beyond your average short iron from the blue's. It was a little soggy the day we played and for the most part the coarse was fairly dry. Had a couple of shots out of the mud on the back nine in areas you wouldn't have expected it. i would golf here again. Staff is great.
Nice Course
I love this course. It has everything, sands, water and wide fairways. It is challenging but not difficult. Greens are in good conditions, and staff is always very amable.
Good course
In good shape for winter season. Staff was exceptional. Slow play due to a five some ahead and crowd for beautiful day.
