Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Good Course
Enjoyed the golf even in the rain! Lots of cart driving.
Texas Style
Very nice course design. Challenging fairways and holes. My only set back was I was not use to the greens, a little on the rough side. I was told by a local the have to stay high or risk the chance of the grass burning from the Texas sun.
awesome
I loved this cource because my bes score was done at here.
agree woth jinx28
TeraVista read these reviews!! New owners took over in Jan 15. Nothing has changed...getting worse.slow play, bunker virtually unplayable, zero attention by anyone there to fix things.even the greens are going downhill. How they can expect to attract golfers is beyond me. I was with 3 members playing their last month there, they are quoting. Horrible excuse for a course.
This course was great
The staff and price was perfect and I will be back for sure
Horrible
I decided to give this course a second chance after playing here 2 years ago. Mistake on my part. Asked for a cart after paying and had to wait at least 30 minutes to get one. That in turn put us 20 minutes behind our scheduled tee time. There was no one starting at hole number one so we had to wait until it was our turn in line. Pace of play was turtle speed at best. My threesome caught up to the twosome in front of us on hole 2 and we ended up playing 5 through hole 14. We waited on every hole. Ran out of daylight after that. Greens in my opinion are just about as bad as they could be. Sand traps need a complete overhaul. Fairways were actually not bad. Beverage cart came by on hole 4 and we never saw it again. I wouldn't recommend playing this course until I see more positive reviews. You could almost compare this experience to stacking cattle in a trailer heading to auction.
that's was perfect Sunday afternoon with teravista
Its my first time on teravista golf club.
I am so satisfied with this club.
Everything is good ; cost, green condition, free beer (2 cup of glass) and beautiful scene.
I will visit here in next weekend again.
While we are young!
Pace of play was very slow. A 5 hour and 20 minute round is not good, especially with no tournaments to blame for clogging up the course. No marshals to help move groups along; only excuses by the pro shop staff. There are other options in the area; consider those.
Lots of play and the cart died.
First time to play in many years. Fairways were nice but the greens had been recently punched. They were bumpy and slow as a result.
There was a cart shortage. One of the carts died after 5 holes. Called the clubhouse for help and started walking. Picked up anotherr cart at the turn for the backside.
Play was slow, first tee backed up but I enjoyed as it was the first time for me to play this year.
I hope it is not so busy next time.
Course Management needs help
As a Teravista resident the course is very convenient for me and generally very challenging and fun to play. There are lots of complaints about the condition, pace of play etc. This is a direct reflection of the management of the course. I don't see the sense of urgency or concern for the issues that are a constant theme of complaints from many different players. The terrible bunker condition is not something new....it has been that way for years. Would not be so bad if there was only a few bunkers on the course but there are many and almost every one is not only a hazard to play but in some cases damaging to your clubs as there are small rocks in them. But again, a reflection on the management. The #1 tee starter position is a constant fiasco. Not controlled and people teeing off before they are supposed to so you get unnecessary back ups on the first tee. The continuous pile ups on holes, sometimes 3 and even 4 groups on the same hole. Really, get someone out there to manage it. Now for the last point. The course recently brought on some young folks to run carts around the parking lot. how about having them cruise the course, ensure the bunkers are raked (if you can find a working rake) and report back to the clubhouse on slow play and pile ups. Clubhouse has GPS monitoring but none knows how to read it. Not all bad....the practice areas are great, the course has a nice layout and there are some guys in the pro shop (Bill) that are customer friendly and know what they are doing. I would welcome the opportunity to sit down with the pro and management and discuss how to improve....it is not rocket science but need a staff that cares about the customer experience.
course is nicely designed
Sand traps are horrible
No sand and hard pan
Tee boxes or very sloped not level
Course would be nice if taken care of
Beverage cart is hardly ever seen accepted at the pro shop
better than most
One of the better conditioned courses around. Great practice facility - range, chipping area and huge putting green. A few holes are quirky, but certainly interesting. You can plunk a few houses playing this course. Late afternoon rounds are difficult to finish as the last four holes play into the setting sun.
Great course conditions but over crowded
The course was in great condition but I've never had a slower round of golf. I played in a group of 3 and we played 12 holes in 3.5 hrs. We had to wait on average 10 minutes to tee off on each hole. Some holes had 3 groups waiting to tee off. We were so frustrated by the 12th hole that we decided to stop. We played on a Saturday afternoon so we expected it to be a little slow but these speeds were enough to not want me to come back...at least on a weekend.
Super Course
It had been many years since I played this course (before houses totally lined the course), and it has changed significantly. It was moderately difficult back then; it's very challenging now if you aren't familiar with it (e.g., some holes have hidden hazards). Overall, a great course at a great price when you can get a hot deal on Golf Now.
Played 18 holes Teravista
Pace of play was slow...Groups sent out to close together. They need Marshall's on the course (front and back) to facilitate pace of play. Secondly cart died and attempted to use the send message feature and no one responded after 5 attempts, eventually had to make a phone call to get cart replaced. Sand traps did not have sand but hard compact dirt. Lastly, the GPS in relation to the pin location was not accurate. In most cases you could not trust the cart GPS.
slow slow
The pace of play could not of been slower. No one on course to help it move. Couple in front of us just quite as they were so frustrated with the course. If this was not my last day of vacation I would of walked of as well. Never going back.
look forward to playing this course again
Overall a very good experience playing this course. Course conditions were excellent. Pace of play could have been better but marshals did their best to keep things moving. Will definitely play this course again especially with deals from golf now.
Bunkers Need Work
The course is overall in good shape. Greens excellent. Some of the bunkers have bare spots or very thin sand. They should be raked.
Bunkers should be a hazard but not with yesterday's footprints.
pace of play ruined the round
Although the course was in decent shape . The slow play was horrible. Never saw a marshall on the course. If you don't mind a 6 hour round of golf and w as biting 10 minutes for each shot then you would do fine on this course.
Teravista
Course in good condition, bunkers need work but not plentiful so didn't come into play too often, pace of play around 4:30 mins, which is expected for a Saturday. Staff was great, overall a good experience.
