Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

The course was in very good condition. Not an easy course. Your first hit is very important. I enjoy it and play it again
Almost...
The course layout is challenging and there are a few intimidating tees that test your confidence. The greens were good on the day I played, holding well and rolling true. However the sand traps are the worst I have seen. Maybe it was the heavy rains a week past? They were hard pan and full of fire ants, and most had lining martial exposed in common collocation areas. The club house is nice and the on course cart person was extremely pleasant. The only thing that stops an above average rating is the sand trap conditions.
Teravista great, except...
Teravista is arguably my favorite course in central Texas. Historically, the conditions are great and the greens are fantastic. The design is tough but fair. The only drawback is recently the bunkers have become virtually unplayable. Many of them have no sand left in them, with the base fiberglass-type material sticking up through the bunker. It's simply horrendous that a course of Teravista's stature would allow the bunkers to devolve into what they are today.
Nice course
Course was in good condition except for the bunkers...which were terrible. Would not recommend this course until bunkers have real sand instead of pebbles and dirt.
Slooooooowwww Play
2.5 hours to play 9 holes of golf. Marshall set a 3 group tourney in front of us, one group on each of the first 3 holes, 2 man select shot scramble, no one had tee'd off 20 minutes before them so course was wide open. We were a threesome with a beginner, by the time we got to the 3rd hole, the twosome behind us was already waiting, by the 5th hole, the group behind them caught up to us also. We were waiting 10 minutes or longer on every tee box after the first hole. Never saw a Marshall and will never waste my time going back there with expectations of getting anything more than disappointed. Unfortunately, the Hot Deal that I made on line turned out to be a sour deal, it was like paying full price.
Very Good Value
Teravista is a very nice, very well maintained course. The practice area is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. On my Sunday round I only had to pay $45, just an incredible value for how good the course is. I played 36 holes in only 7 hours, so pace of play was excellent as well. The carts have gps, ball/club cleaners and are in very good condition. I highly recommend Teravista. It is buy far the best value in the Austin area.
Excellent fairways
Course was in great shape overall, just don't think you should schedule tee time so close to a scramble tournament going off . Pace of okay was awfull
Course in great shape.
Overall excellent coditions. Greens rolled great and approach shots held nicely. Bunkers have the kind of sand you wish every course had, although lots of bunkers. Overall good pace of play.
Great layout in really good shape
Fun course to get out there and crush driver. Still get to use almost every club in the bag. Driver placement is important and tight on some holes which makes the course a good challenge. Greens in great shape. For the most part houses lining course but they aren't crowding fairways leaving that concern out of your mind!
Teravista
Teravista is a fun course to play. Its in good shape, it has just the right length, doglegs and water holes. What really makes Teravista interesting is the greens - they are fast and you need to take an extra moment to read them.
The issues; a) bunkers need sand! they are like concrete and b) pace was too slow! I only saw a marshall once.
I would like to play the course again - but it would need to be on a weekday.
Great place at the right time
Teravista is great golf but we were there on family night. If you don't come prepared to wait, wait, wait it will be frustrating. Check course events before heading out to gauge pace of play.
Very interesting course
Course in good condition with lots of water but not all of it in play. Played in exactly 4 hours
Fun course
Rough a little deep, made it hard to find a ball that was hit just a little out of fairway. Great conditions. Super friendly staff.
wont go back
we were made to start on #10 due to a tourney. At the turn we were told we would have to play the back nine again as they scheduled too many tourneys that day. that did not work out well either so we played 7,8,9, then returned to #1 only to find another tourney starting... what a mess... everyone was mad sometimes we were backed up 4 groups deep behind the tee box (#5). will no go back
A hot day at Terra Vista
Terra Vista is in very good shape from tee to green. Even though the temperature was near 100 degrees I enjoyed the day. The sand traps are the only negative. They have little or no sand. I have played the course often and always enjoy it. The traps are long over due to be repaired though. It is a good layout and can be a challenge if played from the back tees.
Great course! Challenging.
I really liked this course. The fairways and greens are well manicured! The rough is fluffy and I had to work to get the ball out. Exactly like a good golf course should have. Beautiful wild flowers ran through the course. The course had plenty of cold water stations. Our cart 65 had some major front end damage. Put that baby away. I'm a new golfer, female, with a 24 handicap. Great course and challenging? You bet!! Just like I like them!
Great course
Staff is great and friendly.
Love the GPS.
Course is well maintained.
Nice Course
In town for business and decided to play nine. Course was in good shape. The greens were recently punched, but still provided a good roll. Great course for those who can work the ball both ways. Thumbs up for this one.
Consistently excellent course
Teravista has consistently been an excellent course. Practice facility is a plus. Course is challenging enough to keep you on your toes.
Tera
great course greens had just been popped and sanded last week or so only reason i rated condition as good, understand you have to do this.
