Teravista Golf Club
About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

The pace of play was quite slow. Too many players on too few holes. At one point on the back nine, there were 7 groups spread between 2 holes. With the reduction of playable daylight, I think the staff overbooked to make up for lost revenue.
Solid course
Course is looking real good. And staff is always friendly
Disappointed
I set up two tee times for 8 players. One guy hurt his back the afternoon before and had to cancel. Told the guy at the pro show that I only had 7 players and why, and he said no problem it happens. Got to the 1st tee and found out that my two tee times were not consecutive as I requested, so we let the guys in the middle go before us. Not a big deal, but aggrevating.
We waited on every shot. Most of the time arriving on the tee before the group in front of us had even teed off. One par 5 had 2 groups on the hole, and 2 groups waiting on the tee. Jamming tee times into one every 8 minutes is ridiculous.
Now I get a hit on my credit card for the guy who couln't play, for more than I paid to play including a small bucket of balls. I know what the cancellation policy is, but this is not acceptable. We won't be back.
Pace
This is an issue with seemingly no resolution. The pace of play in the central Texas region has got to get better. 5-6 hour rounds are simply unacceptable. But, for some reason it doesn’t seem to matter to course management.
Teravista Review
Teravista is one of the more challenging local public courses. There are several hazards crossing in front of tees and fairways. First timers will find iwhere to place shots a little confusing for example on #17 a par 5. Overall the greens , tees, bunkers and fairways were in good condition. The ball seemed to pick up a lot of mud.
I didn’t see any ball washers or trash cans. But there were frequent water stations on the course.
Beware of white range balls all over the 1st and 18th holes so I recommend playing a colored ball.
Good Course
Good course , with some challenging holes and greens are fast. I’ve played many times in the pass and continue to enjoy playing.
Nice course but pace of play is very, very slow
This course is in good shape and normally I enjoy playing here. However, Sunday it took our group three hours to play the first nine and we were on our way to another three hours on the back nine. We ended up not being able to play the entire 18. When I called the course to inquire they said this is “normal” on a weekend. We also never saw a Marshall while we on the course.
Staff is friendly and clubhouse great, but I won’t be returning to play if the pace of play can’t be brought down to 4.5 hours.
Slow Play
This is the 3rd time I have played Teravista and I can't do it again. Each round played has been 4:40 minutes plus. I played yesterday and it was a 5 hour round.
They book tee times every 8 minutes -- not nearly enough time to stop the bunching.; you literally sit and wait on every single shot.
Excellent course and staff
Recommend this golf club.
I got.a fabulous experience in Teravista.
