About
Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.
The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.
No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.
Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

Unnotified Aerated Greens
The course had its greens aerated just two days prior to my round, which severely impacted the quality of play. Unfortunately, this important information was not disclosed at the time of booking.
Had I known the greens were recently aerated, I would have chosen a different course or delayed my round. I rely on GolfNow for accurate course conditions, and in this case, the lack of transparency resulted in a poor experience.
Nice Course, welcome staff needs work
Kissing Tree is a fun course, very playable and excellent condition. The on course staff, including starter, marshalls, and bev staff, were all excellent. The welcome staff, bag drop off and exit, were pretty awful. There was no one at bag drop off, we had to get our own cart and drive into the partking lot which we found out after the round is not allowed. After the round, again no help to get us to our car. We had to haul our bags to our car. We have play there many times, but the staff seems to need some training, espcicaly for the price they are charging the public.
Great bang for your buck
course is in great shape, pretty cool layout. beer was cold and cart girl came around quite a bit. it was a pretty hot day so thats appreciated.
would definitely recommend to a friend.
Star Ranch
First time on the course. Very good track and I will certainly be back. Have generally been underwhelmed by the golf that is available in the area - but this has been the best course I have played. Primary complaint is the lack of vegetarian options in the clubhouse. Should be pretty simple to have a peanut butter and jelly at a minimum.

Everything about this golf course was amazing! Great staff, great layout, and of course great conditions! I’ll definitely be playing this course again when I am in the area!
